Lone Star State of Mind Audience Reviews

Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
amdillow-1 This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I live down south and find myself quoting this movie all the time. Watch this movie if you want to laugh so hard you might pee. Do not watch this movie if you are trying to break a world record for not laughing and only have 90 minutes to go.A great cast complements a script and this one was perfect. I've talked friends and family into watching this movie and everyone that's watched has told me it really is one of the funniest movies they have seen. There is some partial nudity and adult situations it may not be for everyone but I've shared this with folks I go to church with and They thought it was funny and in good taste.
Enchorde Recap: Earl is a good man, but there are some peculiar circumstances. For instance he is dating his stepsister Baby (but hey, they began dating long before their parents did so...), and they're very happy. However, Junior, Baby's cousin, comes with her, and Baby has charged Earl with looking after Junior. Which is not easily done, as Junior has a talent to get himself into trouble. Now he's outdone himself, as he stole a bag full of drugs and money. At the same time Baby and Earl has decide to move, so suddenly Earl must solve everything, by Tuesday!Comments: This is a real fun movie. Not hilarious no, but there is no slow moments anywhere. Between Earl, Baby and Junior there is always some new twist, some new development around the corner. For us viewers, that means something to watch and keep track of every moment. And yes, every twist and turns brings something new, something fun. But it goes to hilarious. It is a very good movie, but for all new developments, it never goes to great. Some plot turns are all to obvious, including the ending, and the jokes are a lot of the same. But still I enjoyed it very much. Well worth watching! 7/10
CR500R Indifferent to hershiser2's comments, I found this to be a fairly humorous story. If you grew up in most any small Texas town, you can put real people's names to each of the characters in the movie. This is what made the movie for me as I have been in a similar situation and just sorry someone else beat me to writing the screenplay. If you enjoy typical small town Texas antics that make for great entertainment, or if you can enjoy the entertainment value of "a Jerry Springer show waiting to happen", you will like this movie. It's not designed to teach you anything, enjoy it for the ironic Texas humor it delivers. Kinda like "King of the Hill", but in Vidor, Texas.
ludy In sports, they have "most improved" and "comeback player" awards, yet the academy awards do not recognize actors for "most transformed". Although enjoyable, actors such as Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, and Hugh Grant play generally the same character. Ryan Hurst goes from the strong, man-of-few-words, football star in "Remember the Titans" to the character Tinker in Lone Star State of Mind and steals every scene. Maybe the award could be named after Meryl Streep, who, well enough said. Hurst's performance alone is worth watching this movie, but add in the rest of the characters that figuratively and literally feel no pain, with a very funny script, and you will watch this movie repeated times. Having a category just for comedies, especially black comedies like this one, would be such a welcome change to the movie industry blockbuster junk. Having Tinker win an Oscar; Charlie Chaplin would have understood that.
