Maigret Sets A Trap Audience Reviews

Helloturia I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
stephanguertler I love the series. In particular the reserved respectful style of the police feels good in today's world. But one thing left me puzzled. The police found the suit that was supposedly given to a homeless. But if this was the suit of the murderer then there must be a missing piece of cloth. Nobody mentions this in the movie. Odd!
shaktithakur-15321 One must see it for the realness and crime faced by normal human detectives not sm1 like holmes depicted now a days
sanjsrik So, let's get to the most interesting part of the show. It's "set" in France, with ALL English actors NEVER speaking any French, butchering the language, and in some cases, their own names. They waddle around the sets as though they are "French" or what an Englishman would assume a Frenchman should act like. It's like watching the French scene from a Monty Python sketch except with no humor.I keep expecting Rowan Atkinson to start talking like the Blackadder. Instead, he plods through the scenes which drag slower than a dead body through mud. The only good thing to do with this "show" is to ignore it. Just let it go. It makes no sense. I wanted so much to leap through the screen and strangle any of the actors the minute they pretend to be "French" and just say French names very very very very very very badly.Just don't waste your time. Watch the Blackadder and be done with it. You won't come away with such a poor opinion of Rowan Atkinson for even trying this "serious" role. He could have done so much better.Nothing, and I mean, nothing in this godsforsaken awful series makes ANY sense. Maybe if they had Rowan Atkinson reading the books in funny voices it would have been at least watchable. This, well, this is just bad.I want my time back.
haurob I have never heard about Maigret before, so i must admit my reason for watching was Rowan Atkinson. After watching a few minutes, i came to the realization, that this would not be entertaining in the same way that i have gotten to know Mr Atkinson. Putting that aside, i was able to start enjoying the story and the twists. The story was actually a bit "out of the box" and believable characters. It was one of the better police/detective stories i have seen in years, albeit not being my genre. If you would like to turn off your Facebook, chats and all else, this will be an entertaining little show(?) to watch. Its not too long, neither too short.. and overall good quality in all aspects. Enjoy.
