Midnight Movie Audience Reviews

MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Stellead Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
hays24 This movie is awesome! The Killer Cut is so much better than the original. They were given so much more to work with when doing the Killer Cut like vamping up their main villain. They were able to go back and rework how some of the effects to make him look even more cruel. I really like how the smaller effects that were added strengthen the villain. Before he was just another monster, but now I think he is more distinguished as a character. Some of the things that I noticed in the new version as opposed to the original were the new scenes that they added. They added more footage to the movie to lengthen some scenes and simply add others. I noticed too that some scenes were missing. The scenes that were cut I think were great decisions because now the movie is more concise in its delivery of the story. I love how the progression of the movie is like a progression of the horror genre itself. This is seen in the violence and the gruesomeness of the film as it progresses. I like it because it's like a literary bow to films before it. I also love the music in the film. The music really makes the heart pump almost like a workout. I saw that it was awarded one of the top 100 scariest scores of all time by XM Radio and Cinemagic. This is a well done film that is worth watching.
grodemann The word for this movie is Homage, and if you've seen Cop Out its not as overplayed as that. However there is a cool tip of the hat to the old films that didn't show the blood and left all of the killing to the imagination. It's a cool meta level of movie, since the movie is about watching a movie thats surrounded by a the stigma of a massacre in a psyche ward. If your fans of the gore though, there's something there for you, the movie just warms up as it goes on. The killings occur in both the movie they are watching and the movie you are watching. It is neat to see the way the movie gets into that realm of "its OK its just a movie" as the characters aren't worried about their friends brutal murder at first, assuming that it's all just special effects and a joke he is playing on them. And for all the special effects fans the Killer Cut really takes the time to do those right.
amc21490 I just saw a screening of Midnight Movie, the new Killer Cut, and loved it. The premise is really interesting—it's kind of a movie-within-a-movie so it's able to reference back to old horror classics like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, while still staying current and fresh. There's some gore but not to the point where it's overdone or overwhelming, which I personally appreciated. Also, if you've already seen the original version of Midnight Movie, the Killer Cut is brand new with extra scenes, some scenes redone, and the quality of the special effects is awesome. If you're really into movie scores and scary music, this one was voted 'Top 100 Scariest Scores of All Time.' Overall it's a great thriller!
Megan Daniels Honestly, I am so glad I got to see an early screening of Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut. I had already seen the original version of Midnight Movie( which is one of my favorite horror films) and the new version has included some sweet new shots and better visual effects that make the film even gorier than first cut. My favorite part though would be the plot of this film. I love how the film jumps between the movie being shown in the theater and the movie theater itself. It creates a multidimensional atmosphere that keeps you intrigued to what will happen next. The classic-style movie theater is the perfect set for this thrasher film. For all the horror fans out there I highly recommend this film and I feel it's a must for your DVD collection.
