When Ethan arrives at the airport just in time to declare his undying love for his girlfriend, love appears to have conquered all. The scene, however, is really the ending of Ethan's novel, which his agent calls "unrealistic." Ethan soon meets a waitress, Jesse, and falls in love with her despite her growing devotion to Troy, a charming businessman. But the line between reality and fiction becomes increasingly blurred.

My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Audience Reviews

BoardChiri Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
nammage I figured out this entire film in the first 10-20 minutes. Had an idea based on the first 10 minutes, figured it all out by 20 minutes but I kept watching. It isn't every day one gets to watch a wholesome film that's not attempting to inject some message about how one should live their lives, and you should do it from the film's perspective. That's a problem with a lot of "family" films. This film doesn't do that, in my opinion, and for a film lover as myself, that's always a good thing.I also know the aspect of trying to attempt to tell the person you're in a serious relationship with that you can't have kids, physically. Being a man I found it became more difficult the older I got. When younger it just was a line I used with girls "Can't get you pregnant" but getting older that line fizzled away because girls I was serious with wanted to have children with me. Adoption is an option but a difficult or easy one based on where you live and what your position in society is; just the way it is. In the society I live in I'm more on the spectrum of difficult; and those who get into relationships with me know this from my and their point-of-view. So, I've been a bachelor my entire life. I have relationships on occasion but never gone further because when they find out I can't have kids of my own, they're gone. I'm never enough. So, I understand the point-of-view of the character Jesse. This isn't a great film. It's an average film but an average film with the right kind of heart; and that's always good.
troy-manatunga In an attempt to stretch too far Daryn Tufts almost capsizes his debut full length directorial. A script that is written on a basic platform Tufts explores his minds creativity by adding in a twist that which certainly is clever. My Girlfriends Boyfriend isn't the obvious tale of a girl torn between 2 men as the trailer implies, instead it's a movie with massive potential which Tufts fails to discover. Primarily due to the reason the main line theme of a writer seeking for inspiration is overcast by the prominence given to the budding sideline theme of love. My Girlfriends Boyfriend hence falls amongst the vast numbers of Rom-Com movies and disappears without making a noteworthy mark. Ethan who is played by Christopher Gorham is a writer who has failed on many attempts to have his work published. Ethan's work seems to lack the creativity that publishers seek and is cast aside as too generic. The flare of the protagonist isn't exactly written in the flamboyant manner that publishers seem as commercially valuable. Ethan who is seeking inspiration meets Jesse who is very poorly played by Alyssa Milano. Jesse who is single and is divorced as predicted is this long lost inspiration Ethan needs. The exchanging of phone numbers seals the deal for the first date. Tufts first flaw is at this point when Troy walks in and meets Jesse, the core theme gets sidelined and a love triangle is given prominence. Troy who is played by Michael Landes is a successful advertising executive who comes through as too good to be true. It's obvious that Tufts makes this choice of sidelining the main theme deliberately so that the twist in the end would dazzle the average viewer. In this case for me he fails to bring the movie back in completely thus wasting his own efforts on a good script. Think of it like this. It's like being on a date. While you drive for dinner on the freeway, you take a detour through a scenic countryside to impress the other and end up getting lost! Christopher Gorham and Micheal Landes stand well ahead in terms of performance with comparison to Alyssa Milano. Gorham could not have done a better job with a convincing Ethan. The underdog which is Ethan is what pull the movie through to the finish line even with low ratings. It's surprising to see how Milano plays Jesse. If it's done with intent or if it's done under specific directions of Tufts is what makes it even more difficult to watch. Alyssa Milano this time is written off as quite difficult to tolerate watching. Title: My Girlfriends Boyfriend Directed by: Daryn Tufts Starring: Alyssa Milano, Micheal Landes and Christopher Gorham Rated: PG Rating: 05/10 84 Minutes
brendenwhitney When it came to the end I was actually hoping that it would end the way it did... and then the nice refreshing twist made me smack myself upside the head. How did I miss it? I don't know, but I'm glad I did, because it made the movie worth watching.-I thoroughly enjoyed it and I don't say that at all about rom-coms.-There were some issues I had with the ADR and sound mixing, it was a little distracting.-Finally a recently made movie, based in Utah that didn't throw the Mormon faith down your throat.-The characters were believable and worth caring about.-A very nice, fresh start to bringing quality film back to Utah after the horrible destruction done by Kurt Hale and the Halestorm (lack of) Entertainment BS they put out.
date-150-995954 This isn't a bad movie... there's just something wrong with it. Is it the writing? That it's the whitest cast and group of extras I've ever seen? The "twist" is kind of... INCREDIBLY LAME. And yet, somehow (I think because the cast is very likable) it's not totally bad.And I hate to think it's because it's written by a Mormon but the whole conflict and motivating drive of this movie basically revolves around breeding small humans. THE WHOLE THING. And it's supposed to be this mystery to Christopher Gorham's character but he finds out and doesn't care and the tiny conflict is just magically gone so they can get married and I guess... adopt? (Oh and what's the deal with her getting a real job, deciding to move away and then not taking it? Falling in love is great and all, but doesn't she need to eat? Most book authors are not very wealthy.) Also, there should have been more depth or something to the brother-sister relationships. If two grown single people live together, they wouldn't be so easy breezy with each other. There would at least be teasing or fighting or roommate issues. No one gets along like that... It's creepy. (But I love Jonathan from Buffy and his little side plot was way more fun. Actually he was the only funny part of it.) But for all its faults, the featured actors are adorable and the clothes are cute. Of course, with most movies, that shouldn't be part of the review. It's not bad for a rainy Saturday streaming on Netflix. But it's just kind of off.
