Pet Pink Pebbles Audience Reviews

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Console best movie i've ever seen.
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
OllieSuave-007 This is a little strange Pink Panther cartoon remake, where the panther wishes for a pet but ends up getting a rock when he didn't have enough money to buy a real animal. The panther "adopts" the rock anyway and it suddenly takes on a life of its own. This cartoon is basically like a previous one titled "Rocky Pink" but with new scenes added. A couple more chuckles in this one, though not too many laughs overall. The rock eating gravel, acting like a dog and going stir crazy was a bit over-the-top. It was nice, though, seeing Pink Panther's mother featured in the cartoon again.Grade C-
TheLittleSongbird As far as the 1978 Pink Panther cartoons go, Pet Pink Pebbles ranks somewhere in the middle. Talking about the Pink Panther cartoons in general, there's better ones but also worse. While it does fall short of being great, Pet Pink Pebbles still manages to entertain, one of the most important things about making a cartoon good and it does well in that respect. It is predictable and lacking in originality sure, it is literally Rocky Pink remade and with not a huge amount of variety. It is certainly nowhere near as pointless as Pinkologist and Yankee Doodle Pink, but at the same time you can't shake off that feeling that it is a little. While most of the pacing is fine, there are a few lagging moments, which was also true of Rocky Pink. The animation while not bad is also not that great(it was also one of the weaker things about Rocky Pink as well), it is of better quality than a lot of the 1978 Pink Panther cartoons because some of it is clever, Pinky's facial expressions are well done and the rock is a lot of fun to watch. Pinky as always is very well drawn and the bright pink colour blends very well with the background and is not too garish. However, the drawing is sketchy, the colours tend to be flat and also at times over-saturated and most of the backgrounds are sparse in detail and simplistic, the Pink Panther cartoons do adopt a very simple style but this was a time where this simplicity was taken to extremes. However the music is catchy, vibrantly arranged and energetic, also fitting very well(more so than that in Rocky Pink), though admittedly it is slightly repetitive in places. As ever, the theme tune is one of the best and most memorable ones out there and despite having been heard many times has lost none of its timeless value. The gags and humour are not hilarious but still funny, very like in Rocky Pink, loved the use of thought processes and signs. The highlight of Pet Pink Pebbles is its added sequence, as well as being visually clever it is the most gag filled and the cartoon's funniest scene. That already puts it ahead of Pink Valiant, Yankee Doodle Pink and Pink of Baghdad, also "remakes"/"reissues, which weren't very funny and any additions not adding very much. Despite its predictability, there is still some energy in the pacing. The rock is a somewhat bizarre character but in a good way, while its antics are a little over-familiar it is a good and amusing foil. Pinky is cool and likable with good comic timing, I also felt sorry for him too.Overall, predictable and unoriginal but some uneven pacing and animation, but still entertaining with its highlight being the added sequence. As far as the few Pink Panther "remakes"/"reissues" go, Pet Pink Pebbles is the best, being actually good. 7/10 Bethany Cox
Foreverisacastironmess Heh, I just love the little intro thingy where the Panther emerges from the pink ether! He's so cool, that he wasn't even born, he simply coalesced out of the aura of his own awesomeness!!! Aww yeah... Okay, the animation is the typical ugly-ass variety that you generally get with a Panther cartoon, except of course for the character himself who always managed to keep the shorts just above water and made them worth watching by his enchantingly enigmatic presence alone somehow. This one's a little better than the usual fare. In case you didn't know it's a remake of the earlier "Rocky Pink" short, of which I think this is a slight improvement because some of the music and colouring is a little better, and I think the added animation at the end where the boulder bounces through the town like a pinball machine really adds to the momentum and fun of the show. This to me is better than average because of its bizarre hook: A ridiculous creepy living rock who bounds and rolls after the Panther like a dog in a comical fashion. I have no idea why. It's so freaky and absurd! Just a stupid gimmicky idea that doesn't make sense! Is this rock coming from Galaxy X or what!? What is this s**t!?! I don't even know! Oh god... But I digress, I love it, it's so good! The only thing I can think of that possibly drew inspiration from this was a great joke they had on Family Guy once involving a pet rock! Real nice loopy fun offering for the series... Oh darn it, I never quite know how to end these things-OK, that's it, I''m done, toodles, bye-bye!!!!
jan-wiberg This cartoon is actually Rocky Pink (1976) with one new sequence added. When the panther tries to get rid of the rock, he makes it fall down a cliff. A telephone line bounces the rock back up - in the added sequence, it continues bouncing frantically in a small town, from one building to another. This scene is loaded with pinball-related sight gags - I had to watch it frame by frame to catch all the little details! The added sequence continues with the rock bouncing through a park, with more sight gags following. All in all, a worthy addition to an already funny Pink Panther cartoon, but it's still a little suspect releasing the same cartoon twice.
