Priceless Audience Reviews

ThiefHott Too much of everything
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
paulclaassen The film effectively conveys that money can't buy love, and that the simplest things in life might conjure the most wonderful moments or memories. Don't be pretentious - just be yourself, as simplicity will bring forth the best in you. Audrey Tautou was a pleausure to watch as usual. She is just such a wonderful actress.
lasttimeisaw This is a light and seems-innocuous romantic comedy. A straightforward love story between a deadpan hotel waiter (Gad) and a materialistic gold-digger (Audrey) whose sole life purpose is to find an old but rich man to pay for the bills of her high-priced lifestyle. Without didactic persuasion, this film surprisingly contrives another plot to turn Gad into a money boy as well (though the process is bound to crudity and in lack of credibility). With the premise that as long as for true love, one should not feel ashamed of selling himself for money, clearly there is a double moral criteria here between man and woman (I have a grudge against the film as it gives a very bad example of showing its audiences how easy an ordinary man could be hooked up by an elder rich lady). The rich people in the film is never fully- developed that's why the whole story is closer to a modern day fairytale. Audrey Tautou manages to show her glamor gracefully in spite of her role's repugnant character, her acting is convincing and watchable, at the same time Gad Elmaleh's also proves his charm with a slower pace. So when it comes to the predictable finale, I have no further complain about it. Details in the film reveal a lot of effort of the director and writers, such as the little blue umbrella, a set piece of one euro, the prevarication scheme etc. Anyway it is a typical French romance, with a high moral standard in the end, there is no need to ponder upon its procedures.
CountZero313 Audrey Tatou is stunning, giving a complex performance as the sexy, conniving, vulnerable and ready to love Irène. The character is a gold-digger reminiscent of that other Audrey, Hepburn, in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Priceless manages to achieve the same tension of elegance and decadence, playful banter and fraught undertones. There is something very dark about the scene where Irène, dumped by her latest rich beau, and left literally with only the bikini she has on, sits shivering at poolside while the sun sets and the place chances from bathers to dinner jackets. In an instant she goes from queen of her arena to a spectator. It is a complex tone shift few Hollywood (or British) rom-coms manage to attempt, never mind pull off.Gad Elmaleh as Jean is perfectly love-struck and versatile. Strong support comes from Marie-Christine Adam as the hard but equally self-deluding Madeleine, and Vernon Dobtcheff as Irène's first victim, Jacques. There is something quite grown-up and yet naively innocent about this film, with characters who can do the most awful things but never enough to stop you caring about them. Vivid colour palette, and slickly shot, the music works well, too. Well worth seeing.
prashant ranjan I watched this movie last week and really impressed with its glamorized simplicity. Its a story of choosing between high ambition & love.A girl and a boy from their ordinary background but with high ambition services their heterosexual clients in a manner which seems to be different from such existing relationship and can be related with amoral one but not illicit. They love each other but they have to fulfill their commitment to their clients. As the story proceeds we see the repercussions between their ambitions and love. but when they decided a triumph of love over ambition specially from the girl side in the end its give you a delightful feeling. The director has captured different emotions in the best manner.I also liked the facial innocence of both the leading actors. .its really a very entertaining movie.
