Rendition Audience Reviews

TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
Micransix Crappy film
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Alenbalz Great movie, that highlights how a government sacrifices civil rights and personal freedom in the name of actually protecting them. There was a time before 9/11 (when the death penalty was quite common for some crimes), the legal system of the Western civilized world was based on the premise {it is better to let ten guilty men go free than to kill/hang one innocent man}. Today, After 9/11, that appears to have changed to {it is better to kill/sacrifice ten innocent men than to let one terrorist go free} : at least that's what this movie is highlighting. The take home message is, that while the constitution of the U.S.A. guarantee's it's citizens certain rights and freedoms (on paper), they can be taken away at any time by that same Govt. if they believe you are a national security threat; and that belief doesn't have to be supported by any real or hard evidence. Perhaps in time History will record this as the 21st Century's evolution of the Spanish Inquisition and Witch Hunts a few centuries ago. A powerful movie that shows how just how delicate an individual's security and safety really is, when the State perceives you as a threat, and no matter how hard you try to convince it otherwise, you'll be tortured until you confess to what the State wants to hear, so that it can justify your purging.
jedimasterwampa Totally agree with some of the reviews for this movie. about an hour into it I just asked myself "what am i watching?" i didn't continue the movie after that i was so bored and the dialog was so slow and had no meaning to it that i just couldn't watch any longer. i read the spoilers reviews and i am glad i didn't watch the rest of it. most of the acting was really dull too everyone trying to be dead eyed and serious especially the main character and it just seemed out of place with no real back round other than hes an analyst. also i did not really care what happened to the prisoner character even though he has a family because they never showed him with his family. so in all i just did not feel this movie other than being super bored.
riddick-danish WOW having seen the movie recently I was amazed throughout the movie, it had emotions, thrills, drama and characters you care for.Was that really Reese Witherspoon?? She acted brilliantly and so did every actor in the movie, ensemble was really good and had good chemistry between them. I was shocked with the ending, the flow of the movie was nonlinear but not for 1 second did I felt it was nonlinear, great editing.Final Analysis:1. Story - 8/102. Acting - 8/103. Thrill - 9/104. Score - 7/105. Direction and Cinematography - 8/10
ipekmine First of all, the movie was slower and thus longer than it should have been, besides, the flow was so boring that you'd feel sleepy even if you start watching Rendition after a 10 hour long good sleep. Secondly, the so-called 'twist' was totally pointless and awkward, leading to thoughts along the lines of "So, I wasted my time waiting for this?" Not cool. Another problem was the endless dialogues in a foreign language (Egyptian Arabic, maybe?) and the long silence/pauses within the dialogues. Boring, leading to a good deal of yawning, even! Furthermore, the ending was full of questions. What happened to the CIA agent? What was the whole connection between Rashid's phone calls to Anwar El-Ibrahimi? All in all, I'd say this movie is a waste of time, also a waste of this cast and such a subject that could have been reflected in a much better way had the plot been different.
