SEAL Team VI Audience Reviews

Nonureva Really Surprised!

Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
hwg1957-102-265704 If you took away the stock footage and the slow motion and the long narration at the end of the film, there might be a film lasting 45 minutes. And if you took away the annoyingly confusing editing there might be a film lasting half an hour. And if you took away the poor acting you are left with...probably the opening and end credits. It doesn't seem like a film more a child playing with a digital camera. A team of Seals are dropped into Iraq to identify targets for bombing then on the way back encounter lots of trouble. Which could be exciting but it only irritates. Apart from the Master Chief who is given an endless back story the other Seals are difficult to tell apart. The music drones on with heavenly choruses that don't succeed in giving any emotional weight to proceedings. A struggle to get through.
Woodyanders An elite counter terrorism force gets dropped behind enemy lines four days prior to Operation: Desert Shield. Tings go disastrously awry after their covert mission winds up being compromised.Writer/director Mark C. Andrews really fumbles the ball something awful in every possible way: There's clumsy and excessive overuse of painfully obvious stock footage, tin-eared profane dialogue (it's best advised not to take a hit of your favorite hooch every time someone yells "Ooh-rah!"), lousy acting by a lame no-name cast, tacky CGI muzzle flashes, one-note macho meathead characters (raw rookie, tough seasoned leader, hot-tempered jerk, and so on), inept use of flashbacks, self-consciously flashy cinematography, heavy-handed cliché statements on stuff like courage, duty, honor, and necessary sacrifices (the whole business about the shooting of a little innocent boy is especially clunky and appalling, plus a simply dreadful last reel patriotic speech), and, worst of all, embarrassingly mawkish attempts at heart-tugging sentiment (did we need a back story on how the SEAL team commander lost his eight year old son in a tragic accident?). An absolute atrocity.
Susanna Bateson I'm embarrassed that this film was allowed to use the DEVGRU official name thereby misleading future viewers that this thing actually remotely resembled a movie about SEALs. Since when would an Army major feel the need to inform a team member of the importance of their anonymity? The teams don't perform HALOs with gas masks out of a Chinook, they don't 'earn their "stripes" daily, and SEALs say "Hooyah" not the Army equivalent "Hoorah". Navy Flight uniforms? Give me a break! This isn't Top Gun. And in the teams, it's an art and an honor to maintain your kit. You don't just last minute grab a bunch of weapons on a table in an empty hangar out in the open and chunk them in a duffel. Weapons are like a great lover. Your life will literally depend on the nurturing you give those weapons. And if you're going to attempt to make a movie about ANYTHING relative to the military....get the phonetic alphabet correct!! H is Hotel NOT Hippo and B is Bravo NOT Birddog! I had to stop after the first 23 minutes. I cannot wait to ask my friends in the TEAMS if they've heard of this travesty. They've probably never even wasted their time making fun of this. I'm just infuriated about the entire nightmare and would hate for anyone else to waste a second of their precious life!!! I'm a chick and the incomprehensibly inaccurate items in this piece of junk are so cliché and just plain WRONG I would be embarrassed to put my name on this or show my face in the film industry if I had anything to do with this movie. No wonder nobody ever heard of it before! Pretty sure the last time a member of DEVGRU was clean shaved was during BUDs. And NOBODY switches back & forth from Master Chief to Chief. A modicum of plausibility would be nice. Thank God I didn't spend any money on this!!
arq101-2 I'm a fan of b-movies and cheesy movies in general..."Surf Nazis Must Die", "Toxic Avenger", etc etc... but this is by far the worst movie i have ever seen. Military or otherwise. Seriously, who green lit this pile of garbage? The other reviews were spot on, so many factual errors, continuity errors...just too many to count. I looked at the IMDb profile and this guy has only written one movie, which is a complete no brainer. so far this review has a better plot and flow that that movie did. The only sad part is he actually probably made at least a dollar off of it. This movie was not made by anyone that was ever in the military or even a fan of military movies. Apparently it's just a guy and his drinking buddies that had a few days to kill. Just a sad representation of the military and cinematography in general.
