Day of the Siege Audience Reviews

FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
klowens-41243 Being somewhat of a historian ,September 11th stuck out to me ,as i continued with the movie, i coupled it with siege of the 'Golden Apple' by Islamic's ,i couldn't help but draw parallels to the recent attacks by Islamic terrorists on September 11th in the "Big Apple" where the number 3 also stuck out 3,000 died that day ,3000,000 laid siege to Vienna. All that said, i did some fact checking and the sites i checked had the siege dated September 12th,are the producers taking artistic liberties to follow a political agenda or do historians have it wrong? Other than that it was an entertaining movie for the most part ,unlike other reviews i really didn't pay much mind to the musical score,i may go back to see if i can relate. Also there may have been too much time given to some characters whose contributions to this historic event paled in comparison to those who actually impacted the battle, however, as with most historical movies, this is more the norm than the exception. But a thanks should go out to any producers of historical movies, whether 100% factual or not,if anything ,it may motivate some to fact check historical events and enrich the minds of those that absolutely love history!
John Gillmartin ... this was a great hour and a half !!!... was it historically accurate ??? I really don't know and neither does anyone else ... ... movies are for entertainment, documentaries & seminars are for education ~ I was entertained. The cinematography was good, acting was fair to good ... a little long (for my taste) IMHO I think it reminded me that both faith & history a) have a place, b) have flesh and blood under their shadows, and 3) that God is not dead and never was.Good job even if people on both sides are disappointed.
Ken Edelstein It takes a lot to ruin an historical battle epic for me, but these guys succeeded. The director and writer obviously had an simplistic agenda: To show a victory of Christendom over Islam -- and to milk the coincidental historical date the Battle of Vienna (Sept. 11) for all it's worth. The jingoism is annoying enough. But the screenplay and the execution of the battle scenes also turns what should be an historically fascinating and action-packed story into a horrid trudge through the mud.Why F. Murray Abraham would lend his considerable talents to such a mess is the only thing about the movie that could hold this viewer's interest.
matteo-cortigiani-1 I know, the movie is bad. All the critics hit the nail. But...This movie is, how do they call them? Indie. this movie is the real "V for Vendetta". This movie did not receive any funding from the state, from the EU, from anyone, because it is not politically correct. It has no lesbian scenes, no incest, no sex among clergypersons, and tackles a topic too many European politicians would better seen buried under the thickest and farthest away carpet. After "masterpieces" of the like of "Kingdom of Heaven", or that Turkish movie on the siege of Constantinopolis (at least, righteously bashed by everyone), this movie was at least something to root for.I am still waiting for a decent movie on the siege of Malta, but I know I'll die without seeing it - so be it, one can't have everything in this life. Why 7 out of 10? That's why: I sympathize with all the Polish reviewers who killed this movie. You deserved a lot, but an awful lot, better. But really, at least this movie's heart is on the right side, and I am giving my 7 to its heart.Ciao
