Stonehenge Apocalypse Audience Reviews

Lawbolisted Powerful
JinRoz For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
derek-eynon I wouldn't in all good conscience give it more than a 4 out of 10, because in many ways it is awful, though it's probably better than Apocalypse Pompeii (starring Pete's Highlander cast-mate Adrian Paul).Peter acts with quiet dignity and is very believable in his role. With a decent budget this might have been a Da Vinci Code, mind you that was awful as well. Watch if you have 110 mins to spare in your life.
husbandadrian If only American audiences had access to the ancient knowledge of the 'stones'. We Celts took ages carving them from the mountains in south Wales and were about to arrange them in a spiral pattern just north of Bridgend when the English with their usual arrogance attacked and overcame us with an army of mercenaries recruited mainly from Europe. After killing most of our men and forcing the remaining women and children to only wear tartan they levitated the stones to the county of Wiltshire in England with the help of some Egyptian tourists well versed in the dark art of astral travel and improvised dance. This film is just another example of how Americans or Canadians or whatever can't help rewriting history just to suit themselves to earn a fast buck little realising that Merlins' curse will follow them to the end of time, until the prophecies of our Druid leaders are fulfilled and the Empire of Wales is finally restored to it's rightful place.
murf1307 ...I gotta admit, the CGI took me out of the story pretty frequently. That is the most ridiculous pyramid I have ever seen.Overall, though, I enjoyed it. Misha Collins hits the archetype of 'snarky, discredited genius' perfectly (considering this is the only other role I've seen him in outside of his roles on Supernatural), with Jacob Glaser's bull-headed insistence upon the truth. The lead actress was not as memorable, however, although I didn't mind particularly about the half-hearted attempt at implied romance toward the end -- which, in itself, is a feat for any movie, since I don't care for most romance plots. I rather enjoyed seeing it rushed through and not really touched on. The cultist archaeologist was one-dimensional, admittedly, but as far as B-Movies go, I'd kind of been expecting that. The mole was probably the one thing that honestly surprised me -- though that was probably because the first time I saw the film, I showed up about half an hour before the film ended. As for plot, can I just say that if I never hear the word 'electromagnetic' again, it will be too soon. It's like The Day After Tomorrow's supercooled air from the troposphere, but with a much smaller budget and more lightning effects. And I never want to see the pyramids at Giza destroyed in another movie, ever. Though, I believe that if the film had been taken on by a studio that wasn't aiming to squish a movie into 90 made-for-TV-minutes, the ideas could have made for an awesome plot. Finally, because it needs to be said: It was a robot head.
charris-80-870166 If one wishes to make a motion picture in the Science Fiction genre, one should start with a reasonably valid premise and develop the plot around that premise. It makes the storyline more or less believable. Furthermore, the plot should be developed in a believable manner. The concept of detonating a nuclear device at the Stonehenge location by some American General, without a word of interference from the British people is a bit of an imaginative stretch to say the least. Furthermore, it conveys a condescending attitude and the impression that if the world is to be saved, it will be done by an American. Overall, the plot was trite and boringly predictable.Comparing this poorly thought out piece with '2012' (As seen on the DVD box cover) is ridiculous and serves only to engender further distrust of movie reviews. Having said that, I didn't think much of the concept behind '2012' either but at least the plot was interesting.
