Super Audience Reviews

VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Micransix Crappy film
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
sevastokrator It is hard to rate independent/alternative films, because although I'd give this one a 10/10, it would seem unfair to put it beside movie classics. On the other hand, I totally enjoyed every second of it. The story is both bizarre and great, Rainn Wilson delivers a strangely adorable performance, and the film as a whole is original and brilliant. A cult film and definitely one of my all time favorites.
Tweetienator This one I like a lot. A fantastic story, some real superheros (who cares about some invulnerable dudes like Superman!?) on a rescue and revenge mission and everything spiced up with sometimes a dark, twisted humor and some slapstick, and on top we get some fine actors like Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon in an unconventional story.James Gunn did a good work directing this one, Guardians of the Galaxy One and Two he did also not disappoint. Watch!
delightful-life Liv Tyler is a drug addict, goes to jail, ends up working as a waitress and is having trouble staying sober. Rainn Wilson is the cook in that fast food center, he helps her, she falls madly in love with him and marries him.But once she is sober and living her life as a house wife, she is bored and slowly goes back to her old ways. She is basically a pretty girl who has nothing else good inside her. She is mean and vain and finally leaves Wilson for the local drug king. Wilson is a middle aged devout person who truly and deeply loves her and just cannot see the real Liv. He is so heart broken his mind is ready to do anything to get back his sanity and Liv.Its this that slowly makes him into the Crimson Bolt super hero. In batman movies, his parents dying is shown as the reason why he does things, but we never really experience his pain. In this movie, the process that results in a super hero is the main theme. Its not clean and its not pretty.Ellen Page is a typical bored teenager who is frustrated and wants some kind of a meaning in life. She finds out who Wilson is and forces herself to be Wilson's side kick. Wilson too is in trouble, getting injured, etc, and really needs a side-kick. Ellen is weak, frail and even comical (her acting is superb). She is also a little crazy but she actually cares about Wilson and this is the saddest thing about this movie - Wilson is so religious that he just can't accept Ellen's love (She is so ridiculously earnest, that I myself feel like falling in love with her). Many things happen and the ending is not a typical happy ending. That I think is one of the reasons why this movie has a 6.8 rating. It does not satisfy our typical super hero palette.99.9 of the problems is this world are the result of the greed and lack of empathy of a few selfish people. In this movie, its not the drug dealers, mafia or all the external bad people who are the villains. Its Liv Tyler (the last few moments of this movie made me real sad). Love, empathy and care needs to happen inside the home. With that there will be no Batman and no Crimson Bolt (and even no villains).Though this movie made me sad, I liked it more than Kickass (which I absolutely loved). Watch it with your heart and you get to see a movie where you go places you did not expect to go.Mr.James Gunn - Thank You for making this beautiful movie. Cheers...
BA_Harrison James Gunn's Super has been eclipsed by the success of the similarly themed and very enjoyable Kick-Ass, but his film is also well worth a watch, taking a slightly different and possibly more daring approach to Kick Ass's underdog superhero schtick. In Gunn's film, the average Joe who dons a costume to fight crime isn't an affable misguided teen, but rather a depressed short-order cook, Frank (Rainn Wilson), who can only recall two perfect moments in his whole life, one of which is his marriage to Sarah (Liv Tyler), who has recently left him in favour of heroin dealer Jacques (Kevin Bacon). Clearly suffering from mental health issues as a result, Frank comes to believe that he has been chosen by God to fight injustice, and becomes masked avenger The Crimson Bolt, but finds that being a hero isn't like in the comic books. As with Kick Ass, Super is a blend of action, comedy and graphic violence, but the effect is more unsettling than its better known counterpart, Gunn's morally ambiguous character casually dishing out extreme violence for minor infractions at the drop of a hat (even whacking a guy on the head with a wrench for cutting in line at the movies!). And when Ellen Page joins in on the fun as his completely psychotic sidekick Boltie, things get even darker, the pair almost killing a young man for allegedly keying a car. Eventually, The Crimson Bolt and Boltie lead an assault on Jacques stronghold, Frank rescuing Sarah from her drugs hell, but at a heavy cost. The film ends on a bitter-sweet note, Frank alone once more, Boltie dead and Sarah having left him again, but with our hero now blessed with a whole room full of 'perfect moments'.
