The BBQ Audience Reviews

SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Blake Rivera If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Badsharkmoviefan_118 Bought this off Google play the other day for $3 and I so wish I could get my money back. This is another shocking Aussie movie. Another reviewer says is a down right embarrassment for Australians and I 100% agree. It didn't help that the night before I had watched the great Aussie film The Castle. How far the mighty Australian film industry has falling when we continue to get junk like this. All the actors were terrible in this too but it was more the script they were working with then the lack of talent. Manu who i can't stand at the best of times is particularly annoying. Magda Szubanski's butcher character wasn't any better and even Shane Jacobson couldn't rescue this film.
lucasrevens-11271 This movie is terrible. You have 2 terrible Australian actors as the leads and some French chef as an extra. Why does Australia continually put out rubbish films that make the rest of the world think we are a bunch of idiots?! I don't get why, can you shed light on it? The main dude isn't funny or a good actor but here "down under" we scrape the bottom of the barrel. Magda isn't funny either, but for some reason here she is, another actor who isn't funny is that rebel Wilson. She sucks. People have to stop getting jobs because they fill that stereotype. I don't even need to say what I'm talking about. John Goodman was like that too but he's a dynamite actor. Seriously, go watch the big lebowski instead of this and then watch it again straight after. I would rate this no stars if I could. Worst bit is I am sure we all have a relative who would like this.
dugatron This movie is an embarrassment to Australia and all of its occupants. I kept watching hoping for something to improve, but was relieved to see the end. We have the capability to produce good quality films, unfortunately the bbq is one that lowers our overall score. I would be embarrassed to sit in the same room as any foreigner whilst watching this.
spokesandpages This is not a movie that is going to stress you intellectually. It's a bit of light-hearted and unpretentious Australian fun. The characters are a bit cookie cut and some of the acting is not Oscar award stuff but it does poke a bit of fun at a national passion and some of the pretentiousness of food preparations in today's super chef world. I didn't go expecting much but I enjoyed it for what it was. I think some of the critics who panned it were over-reading the point of the movie. That said I didn't appreciate the blatant advertising of stores and products in it though I recognise this is par for the course in many movies today.
