The D Train Audience Reviews

Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Micransix Crappy film
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
adonis98-743-186503 All his life, Dan Landsman has never been the cool guy. That's about to change - if he can convince Oliver Lawless, the most popular guy from his high school who's now the face of a national Banana Boat ad campaign, to show up with him to their class reunion. Dan travels from Pittsburgh to LA and spins a web of lies to recruit Lawless. But he gets more than he bargains for as the unpredictable Lawless proceeds to take over his home, career, and entire life. Despite Black and Marsden's trying on making 'The D Train' watchable this comedy is really sinking rather than rising but also most of the comedic parts did not land and to be honest both of this 2 are good actors and deserved better. (5/10)
dubwize A few great actors were roped into what can only be described as the WORST movie Jack Black has ever made. Lacking a coherent plot, and failing with every laugh this movie is about as devoid of comedy as a holocaust documentary. I tried to like it and give it a chance, but it just got worse and worse as it went on.By the end I was sure they were using this film in Guantanamo to extract information from terrorists. Just avoid.
heather This is not a comedy. You'd think with the cast, you'd be laughing the whole way through, but I barely chuckled even once. The trailer makes it seem like it's a funny movie, but it's far more dramatic, and not even the good kind of drama. A little ways in, Black and Marsden end up having sex and it becomes all about how Black seems borderline in love with Marsden. The great actors in this chose a terrible plot with this one. Don't waste your time.
leonblackwood Review: I wasn't a big fan of this movie because I didn't find it that amusing and the storyline was ridiculous. Dan Landsman (Jack Black), goes way too far to try and get Oliver Lawless (James Marsden), to the High School reunion and the crazy goings on in Los Angeles, just didn't make any sense. If the director set out to make a comedy, he failed miserably because there wasn't any witty moments that I found funny at all. James Marsden wasn't bad but Jack Black got on my nerves after a while because he was doing stupid things all the way through the film, which I found quite silly and boring in parts. I can totally understand why the movie failed miserably at the box office and I'm surprised that Black and Marsden took on the project after reading the terrible script. Anyway, I think you can tell that I wasn't impressed with this film and I definitely expected more from Black and Marsden. Disappointing!Round-Up: With Goosebumps being a box office hit and Kung Fu Panda 3 due to be released soon, Jack Black, 46, can firmly put this poor movie behind him. Its the first movie written and directed by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, which doesn't surprise me because they left out key elements, like a witty script, in this movie. Budget: £3million Worldwide Gross: $770,000 (Terrible!)I recommend this movie to people who are into their drama/comedies starring Jack Black, James Marsden, Jeffrey Tambor and Kathry Hahn. 2/10
