The Last Fall Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Noutions Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
sjhlaw19-622-461426 Great Movie. Difficult subject matter to handle in a movie but director pulls it off beautifully. Acting really carries the film with the fine performances by lance gross and nicole beharie. Both actors, and the supporting cast, make this movie work as entertainment but with a message to not just young black men but to all the boys who aspire to become professional athletes. Gross' new role in the Crisis shows he is not just a one hit wonder. But this movie, Last Fall, allows us to really see his acting skills. Keep up the good work Cherry. As for the ending of movie Cherry does it once again and lands the dismount reasonably well. The only drawback in the movie is it inadvertently condones single mother status that is so prevalent in the AA community. Otherwise, the more important message to "stay in school and don't be no fool" seems worth it.
olliemankz I have to agree with the first person to review this film here, Ashton Morris, that the movie is not outstanding but the leads are. And, actually, using the term IMDb uses in describing the plot, that it is about a journeyman football player, I think that adjective could be applied to the movie as well: journeyman. It carefully tells a story, not one that even comes to a complete conclusion, but one that exposes the vicissitudes of life after football yet also showing how a dream doesn't necessarily have to die.Lance Gross as a released football player in a steady quest to find his footing reveals a solidity in his acting. I personally do not remember having seen him before but I felt within minutes that he is someone who could rival Denzel Washington in star power. Nicole Beharie likewise has brilliance. It will be interesting to see what they both do from here on out. Despite the movie perhaps succumbing to a new Hollywood trend of leaving everyone to parse out what really happens at the end, which is noted in the comments threads and also complained about by movie watchers about movies these days in general, I would say this is worth an afternoon's indulgence curled up on your couch with your significant other if you like and nibblers. Or the eye candy, as Morris puts it, of Gross and Beharie might be enough to satisfy your appetite. A decent watch.
Ashton Morris "The Last Fall" is a story about a 25 year old football player Kyle Bishop portrayed by budding star Lance Gross who gets cuts from his 4th team in 3 years. This story is about adjusting to life after football but it's more than a sports theme drama. It a story an adjusting to change and what a young man has to do make change and sacrifices after things doesn't workout. Director-Writer Matthew Cherry does a great job showcasing Lance Gross as a lead actor and this seems to be Gross' breakout film. Gross has been eye candy for a few years for female viewers but this proves that Gross has potential as an star. The script is well-placed together nothing too special but Gross and his female co- star the extremely talented and beautiful Nicole Beharie is wonderful is his high-school sweetheart who he falls back in love with. Beharie as well seems destined for greatness. Both carried this film with an amazing cast including Vanessa Bell Calloway, Keith David, Michael Moss, Harry Lennix, Darrin Henson, and Obba Babatunde. It's sad that this film didn't reach a larger audience besides the premiere on BET and showing at SXSW festival. I recommend this film to people who choose to watch it.
