The Perfect Host Audience Reviews

ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
wesm-97208 The perfect host has it all. It will make you laugh, scratch you're head, have you on the edge of your seat, and plenty of WTF moments. I didn't see most of the little twists and turns this movie had coming. David Hyde Pierce absolutely kills his role as "the perfect host". A magnificent Indy thriller, and a great overall watch!
Andy Howlett What a treat this film turned out to be. The only thing that was easy to guess at was the fact that no-one was coming to dinner and that Warwick Wilson was nut. But there was more than enough intrigue and twists & turns to keep us guessing all the way through, and the quality of characterisation and acting from David Hyde Pierce was superb, The way he kept it just on the right side of camp was masterly. SPOILER COMING. It was a complete shock to discover that Mr Wilson was not only a cop, but a crooked one! What a stroke. What a film.
Johan Dondokambey The concept is really nice for a creepy story, though it's built on a common basic premise of cops and robbers. The movie gets a bit slowed down on the nut-house world of the host a bit too long. I see that the creators are trying to set those scenes as the focus, but those long duration, and the quite scary images of the last 'guests' that should be disturbing loses their influence when just about half the duration, they turn out to be fake and makeup. Frankly, for me those turns out the mood of the movie from scary to something off. But the twists on the chess play and the robbery plot is nice mix to the whole story, and also the possibility of another twisted 'party' on the ending lifts up the mood of being a scary flick. The acting is a bit below average, though just as expected. A 5 out of 10 score is from me.
Misa Sakhi The perfect host is a brilliant little movie in disguise. With an unknown director, no A-list celebrities in the cast, a small budget and no big studio backing it up, it seems like the kind of film a college student would make. But this movie not at all what it appears to be. The first twenty minutes or so it's relatively boring and similar to any other cheesy action/thriller; But as the movie unravels, an intense and superb plot comes to light. The story only keeps getting more interesting, we find ourselves empathizing with the characters, and often on the edge of our seat. It's a promising film that's entertaining and fun to watch. There isn't much to be said about it. Go watch it. 7/10
