Excellent but underrated film

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Nayan Gough
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

For those who are interested in seeing the sacred sites and brief overviews of these sites as well as the difficulty in such a journey will appreciate this movie and the beautiful images it presents as well as the sad reflection of the destruction of many of the sites by the Communist Chinese Government when it invaded Tibet in the 50's and implemented its "cultural revolution". But also the restorations that have taken place since the 80's and the more open regime that is prevalent today. I particularly enjoyed the visits to many of the sites where Lamas reached enlightenment as well as the endless presence of the Tibetan people that still radiate such sacredness and positive affirmation towards their deep spiritual beliefs.
