The simple story has the pair coming to the rescue of peace-loving Mormons when land-hungry Major Harriman sends his bullies to harass them into giving up their fertile valley. Trinity and Bambino manage to save the Mormons and send the bad guys packing with slapstick humor instead of excessive violence, saving the day.

They Call Me Trinity Audience Reviews

Clevercell Very disappointing...
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Stellead Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
richardjp-17225 Spencer and Hill started out with serious spaghetti westerns then moved on to the comedies they were best known for. Probably their best known movie with the classic character of Trinity (played by Hill) who spends most of the movie wearing dusty falling apart clothes that never get washed even after he's taken a bath.Spencer plays Bambino, a horse thief, who has managed to score himself a job as sheriff in a town. He is Trinity's brother and doesn't want him around, thus starting the amusing tradition in their movies where Spencer's characters usually find Hill's characters irritating. One of the delights in this one is little known actor Remo Capitani who plays the Bandit leader Mezcal. His comedic reactions are hilarious when he is slapped or pummeled by Bambino.
bar-51 I say this because ... I was stationed in Germany 72-74 , outside of Gelhausen . Some friends and I decided to go see an X-rated Comedy Western that was playing at the local theater . I could not speak but two words of German (tho I believe it was actually in Italian) but this movie didn't need words . When I say it was X-rated , which it was , not like any other ! It had a great storyline and we actually went back 2 more times to see it , not because of it's rating , we just missed many parts due to our tears of laughter making us miss parts here and there !The whole story was about a gold mining crew on top of a mountain far away from the nearest town . There were no women and the miners decided to pool their gold and send 2 men (Bud and Terrence) to go and bring prostitutes from the nearest towns back to the mountain . Their journey took them to more than one town because they needed to bring back many and this turned into a wagon train load of women . I didn't know who B&T were until I got back stateside and saw Trinity , whereas I instantly recognized both men as those in this movie .I was only 17 and it was the 1st movie of it's kind that I had ever seen and have yet to see a movie anywhere near as good as this one . We laughed just as hard the 2nd and 3rd time as the first , in fact , we laughed about it the rest of the year . It was so well made it didn't need words and it was downright hilarious !!!! I believe it was 1973 when we saw it . Anybody here in Germany about that time ??? I would love to find it again and need the title to know where to begin looking . When I watched Trinity , it brought back all those great memories and I have to say as great as Trinity was , this movie was all that and more and that's putting it mildly !!!!!
john in missouri Very interesting to find another reviewer who had the exact same reaction to this movie as I did: It was a heck of a lot better when I was 10 or 11 years old.Seeing it more than 30 years later, it's still okay, but it only mildly held my interest. What seemed hugely funny back then was only mildly amusing. Also, things that were astonishing to me as a 10-year-old came across as just silly. For example, in one scene Trinity is walking along and fires his revolver behind him and kills two men without even looking. In fact, he doesn't even bother to look and see if they're dead, because he knows he hit the mark. Um, yeah, right. In addition, a lot of the dialogue sounds quite wooden. Sorry, but 35 years later, it hasn't really aged that well.Although it's been a long time since I've seen that one as well, probably a better Terrence Hill film than this one would be My Name Is Nobody.
heiny Picked this up recently (spring 2004) along with "Trinity is Still My Name" for 5 bucks each at a sale. My brother and I had seen them at a matinee in Kansas when I was about 11 or 12. Didn't recall much of the movies, but remembered we laughed ourselves silly, so it seemed like a cheap price for nostalgia. Well, 30 some odd years later, it wasn't as funny to me. Don't recommend it for adults, but even 21st century 11 year olds will probably still laugh till their soda comes out their noses. The pan-and-scan was pretty bad on the fullscreen DVD I got. This looks like it was encoded on a budget.
