Two Night Stand Audience Reviews

More Review
ReaderKenka Let's be realistic.
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Amy Adler Megan (Analeigh Tipton) is adrift in Manhattan. She lost her job, lost her fiancé and has been bunking with a kind friend and her boyfriend. On a night the threesome go out to celebrate Christmastime, Megan can't find her I.D. and a bouncer won't let her into a drinking establishment. It hurts. Leaving her friends to enjoy their evening, Megs goes home and finds a "one-night stand" hookup site. Lo and behold, a nice looking man, Alec (Miles Teller) is also searching for a fling. Therefore, Megan goes to Alec's apartment, they are a bit tipsy and they spend a nice evening together. When dawn breaks, however, there is bad news. A BLIZZARD has fallen in and the front door won't even open. In addition, M and A soon take a dislike to each other that wasn't a problem the night before. They are stuck in close quarters for hours and hours. Yet, after a morning of cold shoulders, they start conversing again and break into an empty nearby apartment for a needed household appliance. By day's end, they may be attracted to one another again. Unhappily, there are more secrets to uncover and when the snowplows do their thing, Megan leaves at once. Without even knowing Megan's last name, will the smitten Alec be able to find her in a city of 8 million folks? This charming romcom rests on the likable performances and attractive qualities of Tipton and Teller. They are the film's main stars and are in one setting, alone, for quite some time. Kudos to them for their turns. Then, too, the script is very witty and honest; beware, though, that there are many sexual discussions. The supporting acting cast, costumes, and direction are nicely worthy. Don't wait one, two, or three nights to find Two Night Stand. You will be happy you viewed TNS this coming evening.
Scarecrow-88 A rarity these days, "Two Night Stand" decides to spend its running time with two "young romantics" who meet for a one-night stand, not anticipating a snowstorm holding them hostage together in the male's apartment while the female attempts to endure their time together. It seems, at first, to be a doomed bit of sexual spontaneity that would end and result in the two never seeing each other again. Instead, the two young adults "talk it out", learning "tips" about their sexual hang-ups and relationship issues, sharing dialogue about where they are in life regarding a career, school, and the past that brought them to where they are. But he's concealing an important secret that could be a game changer…particularly when it seems the two are on the verge of becoming serious about one another.The two leads do what they can with a ton of foul-mouthed banter and clichéd relationship dialogue which desperately longs to be deeper than it really is. I really liked Analeigh Tipton in the film, and she gives you all the emotional details in her face, with reaction and expression speaking volumes about where she is currently stuck and wishes to be. There's that vulnerability and reluctant willingness to open up to Miles Teller (the Divergent movies) who encourages her to speak from the heart. The time spent together affords them to let down their guards and honestly talk about a bit of everything. I personally wish the film had more to say, but basically the dialogue treads the familiar and traditional routes: just accompanied by course words mixed in with shared exchanges of two "lonely-hearts" looking to connect. As you might expect, the two talk about fakes orgasms and how "the little things" (proper foreplay and slight alterations on lovemaking) are important during sex. There's focus on Tipton's decision to follow a guy to NYU to study Pre-med, eventually graduating but having no intention on working in the medical field. There's emphasis on the dregs of being single and how communication is important. Is this a sleeper for fans of young romance? I guess it could be seen that way. If anything, it dares to keep you right there with these two for almost 90 minutes before she frees herself after discovering Teller hasn't been altogether truthful with her regarding his own relationship status. Considering the two almost split firing harsh barbs at each other after a shared dialogue regarding their one night stand where sex was used as a negative weapon (and words are taken out of context) only to be trapped together by the snowfall outside the door, where the two wind up does give hope to even the toughest starts to potential romance.What I liked most about this was ultimately Tipton's charm and appeal. She's cute and has this introspective, contemplative expressiveness that feels natural and not manufactured. I think you see a character who thinks about ideas presented to her and makes observations based on serious consideration. When Teller wants to discuss a particular topic, her character gives it thought and you see that done in a way that feels so sincere. Teller, for his part, seems to have the kind of character who sees her as such an opportunity for the contender of a girlfriend. He earns her trust through "time well spent" willing to reveal his own insecurities (although he does seem a bit full of himself sometimes) and encourages her to critique him (mostly about sex). I'm not really all that high on Teller because this "cocky fratboy" emerges a bit too much for my liking. Still, Tipton has that kind of winsome appeal and personality: she should be a star if cast in the right part.
Kris McCarthy I loved it. They touched on something that hasn't been done before. What would happen if you got stuck in a one night stand. Thanks to a New York blizzard they do. I actually laughed out loud at the awkwardness of the whole thing. Everything that could go wrong did, so they made lemonade out of it all and a really funny movie happened. Two run-of-the-mill under achievers really made for a perfect cast of misfits. Everyone around them is telling them to get it together but how do you do that when you have no idea how. Best bet is to find another in the same boat and hang on like hell. This movie was a fun ride on a coaster we have seen a million times. Not your typical rom-com but something new, fresh and just plain funny.
lukagnamus I must say this is the type of movie I often prefer at tired days, like when being hungover. It is the classic romantic comedy with intelligent humor and just the right amount of romance.The story is simple with a really targeted ending and you can't get lost in it. Megan (Annaleigh Tipton) is the typical break-up suffering girl who wants to get her life back on track and therefore signs in on a dating site expecting a simple one night stand. She connects with Alec (Miles Teller) and the expected thing happens. However, it gets complicated when a snowstorm blocks her way out of the building/apartment next day, so she is stuck with her yesterday's not much liked lover. I won't continue to sum up the rest because it is really a great pack of funny events, character teasing, good romance and a little educational value that should not be spoiled.To explain the 7 stars: The acting is good and the same is the chemistry between characters/actors. The scenario and dialogs are really good, but the top is definitely the intelligent sense of humor. What I missed is a better directing job which is solid but not good enough to be recognized. Also there is the ending I haven't liked and the lack of some good music.Summed up I recommend the movie, especially at lazy days or for hangover 'treating'. Could also work for a dating movie, try it.
