Unthinkable Audience Reviews

More Review
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Maleeha Vincent It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
jjrojasgambrulis Watched the movie with 3 mores guys. Nobody agreed about the score. Nobody agreed about the main roles background and postures. No technical discussions about cinematography, music, lights, acting. We agreed about this as a heavy film. Difficult to digest. I'd like to see more about the main characters background and motives. But that is clearly not the purpose of the movie.
alanpuzey This was a pretty decent movie, based on our times in the 2010s, dealing with radicalization and terrorism - and how it may, or may not be countered. The acting was fine throughout - and in particular Michael Sheen as the terrorist. I was wondering where he had gone after his great roles as Brian Clough, Tony Blair and David Frost. For me, this was a great come-back.I was drawn to compare this film to "Eye in the Sky", another film concerning the morality of decisions that have to be taken in our modern world of terrorism and counter terrorism. I think "Eye in the Sky" is superior in many ways and highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. Having said that, "Unthinkable" remains a film deserving attention, even if it is rather linear in its treatment.
Richie-67-485852 Good movie because it puts a moral dilemma in your face. We are all going to die this we know. But how and why plagues us all. The twist in this movie is it is before your time, you don't deserve it and there may be nothing you can do about it. That makes this movie a thriller! Why? Because some crazy people are up to no good. In this movie, it is the whole point and then some. The actors pull it off making you belief this is not an act thus good actors. The story holds and grips the viewer. I am reminded of what Israel does to bombers that go all out in the name of what they think is right and detonate themselves in public places killing as many as they can women, children, elderly etc. Israel, who cannot stop this, lets it be known that the bombers whole family will be arrested and of course their homes torn down in advance. What happens to their families before, during and afterwards is put on the bombers shoulders if they decide to go ahead. We hope this acts as a deterrence of some sort. Keyser Sose, the bad guy in The Usual Suspects movie had a similar mentality if you crossed him. Horrible thought isn't it? The whole thing of I harm you and you harm me is so perverse which is why they call it a no win and everyone loses. This movie captures that process and concept quite nicely and of course it brings out of the viewer raw feelings when it does. Edge of your seat, at times hard to process because of the viewers own personal thoughts being projected and added to the movie/story line thus upping the tension. Very effective as a wake-up call to reality in today's world. Just keep telling yourself its a movie and it is not real...or is it? Highly recommend sunflower seeds or you will nail bite. No cell phones or bathroom breaks either. Let the movie work you! It will
Rohit Gahlowt Unthinkable deals with the torture of a terrorist who knows where he has placed a bomb which is going to go off soon killing hundreds. No matter how much you torture the terrorist he isn't willing to tell you the location of the bomb. What would you do? Would you bring his family in front of him and start to torture them instead to make him reveal the bomb's location? Could you torture a child in front of a father, a wife in front of her husband to save hundreds? This is the question that the film tries to deal with, explain, ask us. This movie is gripping and unpredictable. It's tense and suspenseful. This reminds me of a recent film called Eye In The Sky which made the audience and the lead characters face a similar dilemma. Both films are remarkable. Both Unthinkable and Eye In The Sky are thrillers that stay with you a long time after they have ended. They may seem like American propaganda films but they are much, much more as these situations will be faced by security forces the world over. Don't think, just watch this one.
