Vishwaroopam Audience Reviews

Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Mani S Its an Tamil movie in Hollywood standards, not only in technical but the movie is also deals with international issue in a everyone,s view.this movie is not at all against to Muslims, even the hero of the movie portrayed as a Muslim. In real many Muslims were also acted. If the movie is against them then why should have been they acted?Ban on the movie is coz of political reasons only. Some of them have complained that kamal hassan supports Americans, but he doesn't.In many scenes he slapped Americans too. Finally the movie is worth to watch and i am waiting for the second part.
nomadsorion I have been a die hard fan of Kamal Haasan all my life, not just for his skills related to cinema, but because of his principles and philosophies related to life as well. Had been waiting for the movie ever since I watched a short teaser clip released by KH during an award ceremony 1-2 years ago. The trailers promised a very racy action thriller against a backdrop related to international terrorism. Yes. Interesting. Did the movie live upto the hype and my expectations? Ah. Pretty much.Writing this detailed review from a neutral POV and not writing this as a fan boy.Cast+Characterisation: The cast has several popular names as well as few new ones. KH needs no introduction. He has mastered every role that he has played so far. He does his job as an actor extraordinarily. Rahul Bose and Jaideep Ahlawat too were very good. Couldn't find any flaws in their acting. The characterization of Rahul is very interesting. I see Pooja as a surprise package. She is new to the industry and wasn't expecting much. However, she has managed to put up a very decent show and KH being the writer has done a great job framing her character. Andrea's role doesn't have much to do in this movie. Maybe she would have an important role in the sequel. All others have done a decent job. However, I feel that the American actors who have played minor roles as FBI officers etc have done a below average job. Overall: 8/10 Story: A very simple story related to terrorism at the global level and yet another movie depicting Newton's third law. The story has a phase which is thought provoking. There are many parts that take the viewers to the unknown side of terrorists' lives. It is evident that KH has done a lot of research before making this movie. 8.5/10Direction: The direction is impeccable. Amazing job done. KH has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. The great uses of metaphors and motifs sets him at a level much above today's Indian directors. This man is a genius. A perfect 10/10Screenplay + Narration etc: This is one area where the movie fails at certain instances, especially during the second half. The screenplay and narration gets pretty slow mid way. However, it gets back to a good form towards the end of second half. The climax was not liked by many people. It lacked the masala and action that you generally see in typical Indian movies or any movie for that matter. However, the climax was a very smart one. 7/10Music: The biggest drawback of this movie. Expectations were pretty high given the fact that music has been done by SEL. The background score is very good in the first half hour or so and there is proper use of silence. But, midway first half, there is overuse of silence and the BGM is pretty bad and this continues till the end. Yes, there are certain instances where the BGM is pretty good. But, overall, the music is very very bad. Given the fact that good BGM can complement the screenplay very well, I would say that it is the music which made the narration seem boring at times. 5/10Use of technology + making: Probably the best making that Indian movies have ever seen. The quality of the cinematography etc etc is on par with that of Hollywood movies. VFX is the biggest plus point in this movie after KH. Madhusudanan has done an amazing job. The movie seems very grand on the big screen and it is very evident that KH is one person that India must rely on if it wants to takes it's movies to the next level, especially in terms of making and use of technology. 9.5/10Final rating: 8/10I have watched all movies of KH and especially love the ones that he has directed or written the story for. Even after Vishwaroopam for over a ten times (Yes! I have :) ), I still feel that this is not his best. Virumaandi is much superior to this movie. And, Hey Ram stands out as KH's best work even today and Vishwaroopam fails to replace it.Controversy? I felt sad seeing my idol tell the media reporters that he is ready to leave the country. All the related incidents were completely unfortunate and it is obvious that the protests were driven by political forces. There is nothing against Muslim, rather this man has supported the goodwill of most Muslims in this movie.
Milen Mirchev First of all I have to admit that my expectations were quite high due to IMDb's rating. I mean: 9.3/10 from 27000 users! Who wouldn't fall for that? Hence - the disappointment.Script. Sure, there are some nice ideas but they are poorly executed, leaving you with the aftertaste of underdevelopment. And then there is the rest of the script - full of clichés, absurd situations, stitches and patches, all in an attempt to stress on some dramatic scene about a person you don't care about. A lot of characters with no background whatsoever. Putting them in a dramatic emotional scenes without the necessary personal depth is just wrong. Now, in general this problem could be partially masked by theActing. Fat chance! I understand that Kamal Hassan has a lot of experience and therefore a self-esteem to perform anything. And that's about all there is - an old man with an ego big enough to give life to otherwise weak character. I suddenly laughed somewhere in the middle of this movie, when I remembered that he actually wrote and directed his own act. That was the perfect example of why director, writer and actor should be all different people. As for the rest of the cast, it would've been much better if the viewer just didn't see the most of them at all. The ridiculous and absurd scenes have turned out to be somewhat funny when played by stiff and emotionally challenged individuals. In all fairness I'd like to point out the good performance Andrea Jeremiah gave as Ashmita. Well, the bar was not set... anywhere. The sound is very well done as expected from an Indian movie. The music is well placed and paced at the right moments, enhancing the effects the director was looking for. About the dialog - in general I'm not a fan of this Indian mix of English and Hindi since I never know when they will switch from English to something else and I will need to look at the subtitles searching for the middle of a sentence. Other than that, the actors use the right language in the right situation/country.The visuals' quality is spread between poor and average. Well, some of them are somewhat good but since it's 2013 and "The Matrix" was 14 years ago I was not awed by them...I'd like to spare you some negativity and skip the shooting scenes altogether. The fighting scene was only one and lasted for about 20 seconds but check this out - repeated immediately after in slower motion. Don't you love it when a guy with a gun is walking towards an unarmed man right until he is at a convenient short distance.Well, I get it - the Indians are proud nation and like their own work. Still, this rating really made me doubt the accuracy of IMDb. So the scores of this Action/Crime/Thriller would really be:Story: 5/10 Script: 2/10Acting: 3/10 Lead: 5/10Music: 8/10 Sounds: 7/10 Dialogue: 5/10Camera: 6/10 Visuals: 3/10Action: 4/10 Crime: 4/10 Thriller: 3/10Overall: 5.5/10When you are rated 9.3/10 but only deliver 5.5/10 - that is how to fail the expectations.
Abhi Sharma after so much hype.. i decided to watch this movie.. i am not a fan of kamal hasan nor i hate him.. but this movie didn't help me change my views on him. movie is sooo boring.. acting is below average from all the actors.. and dialogues of his wife is damn irritating.. at one point you really wants someone to shut her up.. and i didn't understand the starting of the movie.. what she was doing in therapist office.. and where did that conversation go.. i really wanted the movie to end.. here its having 9.4 ratings.. c'mon you guys can't be serious.. please don't go for this movie even if you are action lover or have any sort of taste.. and i wonder why its 2nd part is in making..
