Walking with Dinosaurs Audience Reviews

More Review
Dotbankey A lot of fun.
Siflutter It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
MinistryofDoom My kids, like most young kids, absolutely love Dinosaurs. So as a parent, I thought what better way to have an educational yet entertaining family experience than to watch this together. Boy was I wrong. This movie, though it is inspired by the BBC mini-series, is terrible. Granted the stunning visuals and photo-realism of the dinosaurs was really impressing, that gloss was quickly overshadowed by horrible writing and even worse voice acting. The writing was absolutely abysmal and felt forced. The jokes were terrible, the narrator (the crow/chicken bird thing) was annoying and ruined the film with it's inability to shut up through most of the scenes. The banter between the dinosaur characters also felt forced and drawn out. Why do they need to have 20 minute conversations about absolutely nothing in most of the scenes? Did Larry David write this? Back to the voice acting. Oh my God, the voice acting was cringeworthy. The voice actors made no attempt whatsoever to play "characters" but sounded like they were just reading lines off of a piece of paper while constantly checking the time (they probably were). The dialogue and the movement of the Dinos' mouths didn't even correctly sync. Is this one of those things where we're imagining that they're talking? And just so you never fully feel like you're watching either a fictional film, or a documentary about Dinosaurs, every time a new dino is introduced on screen, we get a pause and their name written in bold across the screen as it's read aloud by a group of little kids off camera. This film was so bad that my kids who are obsessed with Dinosaurs begged me to turn it off and put on Pixar's The Good Dinosaur instead. Yes, it's that bad.
Hidden Howard Walking With Dinosaurs Was Based Off A BBC Series And Fox Decided To Make A Film Based On It.With Live Action Backgrounds & CGI By The Award Winning Company, Animal Logic, Things Were Moving Along Pretty Good. Until...Fox Viewed A Rough Cut And Decided To Add Voices To The Characters So Children Can Watch It. Does Voices Ruin A Meant To Be Silent Film.yes.instead, Fox Marketed This Film IN 3D (That's Fine) But As A Kids Film (Ugh.)The Story Is About Patchi (Justin Long) Is Going To Learn How To Be A Leader In His Tribe And To Grow Up. As He Wrestles With His Older And Ruder Brother Scowler (Skyler Stone) As He Meets A Girl Dinosaur Name Juniper (Tiya Sircar) And With His Friend Alex (John Leguizamo) He Will Become The Leader He Was Made To Be.Judging By That,The Story Is Predictable And Not That Interesting. However,The Film's Animation Is Amazing And Looks Realistic Not To Mention The Breath Taking Backgrounds. But The Script Is A Predictable Mess And Just Stupid. The Characters Are Just Bland, 1 Dimensional & Just Annoying. The Humor Is Juvenile Just To Make The Kids Laugh And Humor That Doesn't Fit The Movie And Makes You Confused And Stuff. With That Said...Walking With Dinosaurs Is Just A Sad Attempt So Kids Can Watch And Make Money. And The Filmmakers Wanted The Film To Be Silent But Fox Wanted Voices So Children Can Connect To The Characters (No!)I Would Recommend To People Who Like Dinosaurs And/or Juvenile HumorAs This Film Is Nothing But A Cash Grabber Thanks To FoxD. Liam Robertson I am currently sitting with my kids watching this in 3D. The movie looked impressive on the store shelf so I picked it up for the kids to watch. As is often the case I just wish I had read some reviews on IMDb before hand. The graphics and CGI are spectacular but everything else including the storyline is instantly forgettable. Both my daughters are attempting to sit through this but are already twiddling their fingers completely bored. A few evenings ago they watched a 3D version of Planet Dinosaur, thoroughly enjoying it screaming in both fear and delight. I had so hoped that this would have been a better and even more enjoyable movie but unfortunately even with the superb graphics this will never be the case. So avoid at all costs unless you are willing to play it without sound.
viceroy_88 Cannot compare this with the 1999 BBC documentary series, this is a family movie, or I can also say, a children movie.Made with mixture of real location filming and CGI, I think children who loves dinosaurs will like this movie.I was quite relieved that they didn't make the dinosaurs mouth move while they talk, I prefer it this way, when their mouths stay still when they talk to each other. Many people say that Hollywood ruins the awesome BBC documentary, but I'd say it's just another movie. And the BBC documentary is not so good anyway, in my opinion. So, enjoy watching with your children. But be careful, some parents might find the fight scenes too violent for children under 5 years old.
