Once Upon a Time in Venice Audience Reviews

More Review
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Gar Conn Loved it. It's almost as fun as Bruce's Moonlighting days. The only way this could get better is if it was the first part of a trilogy.
tornadojimbelino This movie is Mesmerizing. Bruce Willis stars as Steve Ford a down and out ex-cop turned gum-shoe detective who loses his dog and involves himself in hilariously unfunny escapades in an effort to get the mutt back. If Thomas Middleditch's 'Verizon' commercials make you fall off the couch with laughter then this movie is for you. I don't know why I kept watching 'Venice'. At first, I guess I was hoping it was going to be another 'The Whole Ten Yards'. The writers play on every cult movie cliché and basically rewrote their own versions of 'Pulp Fiction' and hoped no one would notice. "Once Upon a Time in Venice" is a movie to watch when your remote control stops working and you are too lazy to check the batteries. The one saving grace is Jessica Gomes frontal nude scene. Sadly it lasts less than five seconds. John Goodman also stars in this fiasco and 'acts' like he was doing someone a favor just by showing up. I wholeheartedly suggest that you make an effort to watch 'Once Upon A Time in Venice' and then try to stop watching it.
covertjby I started watching this one with my wife and could honestly only get through about 30 minutes before telling her it was unwatchable. Spoiler- I turned to my wife and said "Someone actually came to Bruce Willis with a script that said you've got a scene where you ride a skateboard naked down a busy road in a chase scene then end up being pulled over by a cop. Next in an effort to hide your gun you have to shove it in your butt crack." Of course, Mr. Willis being the accomplished actor he is replied "THAT ROLE IS FOR ME." I thought I took out an action flick from the library, which I'm sure at some point it becomes. I just didn't have the patience to wait for this thing to become what I was looking for. As they say, it just wasn't my cup of tea, therefore the one star review.
dplante-26699 Like many, I've been a Bruce Willis fan since "Die Hard." And I agree that some of his recent movies have not been as satisfying as I'd like. So that may have led me to some lower expectations with "Once Upon a Time in Venice." But, it's Bruce Willis (and John Goodman, and Jason Momoa, and Thomas Middleditch, and the list goes on), so what the heck.I found myself actually laughing at the dialog and acting (in a good way). The irreverent Bruce Willis attitude was here in full, and EVERYONE else was that way, too, which is one of the things that made this movie really fun. Yes, the action sequences were kind of light, but they fit it perfectly with the tone of the movie. If you want a fun Bruce Willis movie, this one is it. Loved it!
