Triple 9 Audience Reviews

Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
cinemajesty Film Review: "Triple 9" (2016)This highly unsettling cop-thriller directed by John Hillcoat, known for decisive somehow incomplete looks on the world that surround us nearby, but never failing to polarize, since his breakthrough feature "The Proposition" (2005), a neo-western starring actor Guy Pearce as unruly outlaw Charlie Burns; the same with "Triple 9", where shifting character perspectives keeps the spectre on the heels what is to expect by a den of metropolitan cops, set in urban Atlanta, Georgia, who get pressured by character Michael Atwood, portrayed by actor Chiwetel Ejiojor in a risky constant mood shifting fashion, when the nemesis police officer Chris Allen arrives on the scene, performed by stability and focus-bringing actor Casey Affleck, to unfold a heist-taking bunch of police officer, contracted by Michael, who has been deeply tight up with the Russian Mafia owning Hebrew Kosher Nostra; rulingly and surprisingly performances by actresses Kate Winslet and Gal Gadot, as underworld roving sisters' couple, who keep their heads clear, when all other members of an demanding ensemble cast surrounding also Woody Harrelson as an arguable good cop, Anthony Mackie as bad cop and actor Aaron Paul as the character of undercover police officer Gabe Welch, who portrays a complete destruction of losing one's nerves under pressure, when the gritty highly realistic image system of further drug-sedated cops, abducted waterpark-seduced children, capturing a whole world blown up in smoke and narcotics toward the title-given police code of "999" - officer down - pushes the suspense to mind-twisting heights at the running time marker 1h 21mins 00sec in an original script by Matt Cook of unexpected revelations, making "Triple 9" a cop-thriller open for revisits.© 2017 Felix Alexander Dausend (Cinemajesty Entertainments LLC)
theflip The movie keeps you on your toes and has a ton of action, bad guys, good guys and everything in between. Casey Afleck plays his outsider cop character very well as is becoming customary as he climbs up the chart of best young actors.Honestly the story isn't anything inspirational or transforming and it's a bit violent and gory but if you're a fan of Afleck then it'll deliver.
adonis98-743-186503 A gang of criminals and corrupt cops plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull off their biggest heist yet across town. Triple 9 looked like the kind of movie that was going to be a sure hit from the beginning especially with the cast that is surrounded by such as Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Gal Gadot, Kate Winslet, Teresa Palmer, Clifton Collins Jr, Norman Reedus and Michael Kenneth Williams. Unfortunately the film had some pretty awful characters that acted like d*cks to everyone, a thin story that went nowhere most of the time and some actors were used pretty poorly such as Paul and Gadot and as for fans of Walking Dead and Reedus? Well don't have your hopes way high with his character. Except some good action sequences involving some of the main protagonists and a good performance by Affleck the rest of the film is very slow and at times very boring, the dialogue at times is pretty awful and Winslet feels miscasted and the ending of the film cuts way too fast and as the rest of it it's a huge disappointment. Triple 9 could have been a great film but the director and the writers clearly had no idea what the hell they were trying to do. (4/10)
bobthemag2 So, should you watch or not? Yes if you like shoot'em up films. The characters are dirty and gritty. It has a lot of great actors in it. I like them all and they all do a great job. I didn't even know that was Kate Winslett as the Russian. Is this an Oscar contender, of course not. None of the movies I like ever are.
