WCW Road Wild 1998 Audience Reviews

Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
callanvass Live from Sturgis, SDAttendance 8,500Your commentators are Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heennan & Mike TenayMeng Vs The BarbarianMeng wins with the Tongan Death Grip. Jimmy Hart and his goons try to assault Meng afterwards until Jim Duggan makes the save. The match was meh. It was fun seeing Jimmy Hart doing a splash on Meng off the top rope, though.*1/2 out of 5Disco Inferno & Alex Wright Vs Public EnemyUgh...you couldn't ask to have a crappier way to start the show. Public Enemy wins. This as a convoluted mess from start to finish. Never truly boring...but really, really bad.*3/4 out of 5Triangle MatchRaven Vs Saturn Vs Kanyon (Falls Count Anywhere)Saturn wins after fending off a ton of interference. Pretty disappointing stuff. It felt like they were trying too hard, especially Kanyon. ** out of 5#1 Contender for the Cruiserweight TitlePsychosis Vs Rey MysterioMysterio wins. Pretty ordinary match from these two. It felt lazy and put together at the last minute. If you wanna see a good match between these two, watch their match at Bash at the Beach 96.**1/2 out of 5Television TitleStevie Ray (C) Vs Chavo GuerreroUGH.....the hits just keep on coming. Stevie Ray is AWFUL. The crowd is DEAD. This is why I hated the Road Wild events. Bischoff only did this because of his fetish for motorcycles. Stevie basically squashes him. This featured terribly unfunny comedy from Chavo. Eddie Guerrero saves Stevie Ray after the match.Rick Steiner Vs Scott SteinerJ.J Dillon says this match won't happen tonight. Buff Bagwell comes out wheeling Scott Steiner on a stretcher with an oxygen mask. The crowd FINALLY comes alive with a *bulls* chant. He says Rick Vs Scott will take place at Fall Brawl. He says is Scott doesn't wrestle, he'll be barred from wrestling for life. What a waste of time.Brian Adams Vs Steve McMichaelWHY??????! *bangs head on laptop* McMichael wins with a tombstone. Godawful stuff...plain and simple* out of 5Cruiserweight Title (Special Referee: Dean Malenko)Chris Jericho (C) Vs Juventud GuerreraJuventud wins the title with help from Malenko. Not a bad match by any means...but they were clearly waiting for the ending. Crowd popped huge for Juvi winning the title. **3/4 out of 5Battle RoyalnWo Hollywood (Scott Hall, The Giant, Curt Hennig & Scott Norton) Vs nWo Wolfpac (Sting, Kevin Nash, Konnan & Lex Luger) Vs GoldbergGoldberg literally delivers a Jackhammer to The Giant and pins him. An Iconic moment and one I'll never forget. I don't care what people say! Goldberg was a phenom. N/R"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff Vs Diamond Dallas Page & Jay LenoLeno and DDP win after Leno pins Bischoff. Goldberg comes out and saves DDP and Leno from an attack after the match. Innocous fun all the way. It's the furthest thing from a technical classic you'll ever see...but man is it entertaining. Leno's antics were great and the crowd came alive big time for everything.**1/2 out of 5Aside from the main event and Goldberg delivering a jackhammer to The Giant, this is a pretty mediocre PPV that is awfully hard to watch. Watch the main event, Goldberg's dominance, and skip the rest. I guess the Cruiserweight stuff is worth a watch as well.4/10
amanwhorocks 1. Meng Vs. Barbarian - Ordinary power match. 6.5/10 2. Disco Inferno/Alex Wright/ Vs. Public Enemy - It turned int street fight. For Disco, who went through 3 tables (and for him only) I give 8/10 3. Saturn Vs. Raven Vs. Chris Kanyon - My 3 favorite wrestlers in Triangle match. It was good, but Saturn won again. 9/10 4. Psychosis Vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. - These two are Gods of cruiser-weight division, but that was pretty slow match. Mysterio won. 7/10 5. WCW T.V. Title Match: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. Vs. Champ-Stevie Ray - A few minute one finisher move (slapjack)bout 6.5/10 6. Brian Adams Vs. Steve McMichael - It was said so much about that thing, how it is one of the worst matches ever. Yes, there were some screwed moves, but Hogan/Nash matches are far worst. 5/10 7. WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Champ-Chris Jericho Vs. Juventud Guerrera - Na ja, Jericho lost that title in WCW last for ever. 8/10 8. Battle Royal: Goldberg Vs.Scott Hall/The Giant/Curt Hennig/Scott Norton Vs. Sting/Lex Luger/Konnan/Kevin Nash - Fatal tragedy. Only victory for Goldberg, and Nash even didn't get eliminated, but he eliminate himself, a$$hole. I really hate how Hennig/Sting etc. got throw over ropes, and Giant pin. Totally useless match 3/10 9. Hogan/Bischoff Vs. Diamond Dallas Page/Jay Leno - What did I expect? Nothing. And nothing special occurred. 6/10
