Angel Audience Reviews

Boobirt Stylish but barely mediocre overall
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Realrockerhalloween I was skeptical when I heard Angel would be leaving his sister show to star in a spin off about a tormented vampire with a soul seeking redemption, but I was proved wrong by the genius known as Joss Whedon. The writing was superb from investing in Angel's rich past waiting to be explored, his team's family unit, monster of the week stories and the drama mixed humor flowing naturally together. What it does better then Buffy is characterization. A love interest, enemy or a weak character could crossover becoming who ever they wanted to be and stand on their own legs without stereotyping. Take Wesley who was a nerdy weakling and transformed into a champion sent down dark paths and involved in tragic love stories. While Buffy faulted during its last two seasons, Angel provided a great alternative exploring new dimensions, dealing with old enemies, an unexpected pregnancy and a story arch leading up to an incredible apocalypse that ravels any finale we've seen on any show before. The music, special effects and camera shots were top notch all the way through. My only complaint is I wish long term characters had better send offs and the ending hadn't been a cliff hanger.Don't go in expecting Buffy, it has its own identity apart from that and deals with the real world in a unique crazy L.A way. Treat yourself to five glorious years that will make you laugh, cry and think about the bigger picture in life.
markdevery-21995 ANGEL WOW this show did so much for five seasons they spoiler killed off a lot of main people on the show cough episode 9 of season 1 didn't see that at all and a lot of times no one saw it coming season 1 was like showing u what's too come and what too except man oh man did it ever angel deserved a spin off because we never got too see how angel was really and we did in this show the best thing about the show was there were some laughs but it was darker and bloodier Wesley was one of the best on the show man i hated him in Buffy he was annoying and just plain up childish but spoiler what they did too him in the following seasons was brilliant writing what he did too angel in season 3 wow Lorne was great Gun was great too so was Doyle :( ammm fred was brilliant too and angel himself did a great bloody job and well season 5 was great because spoiler spike is back and better then ever but anyhow it deserved a season 6 the ending was too good too just end like that give it a watch if you liked Buffy you would love angel
SnoopyStyle Angelus is a vampire cursed with a human soul. He decides to leave Sunnydale and Buffy Summers after the finale of the 3rd season of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. He moves to Los Angeles where he battles the big bad and protect the helpless. He meets helpful Allen Doyle (Glenn Quinn) who is part demon. On the first case, he runs into Sunnydale alumni Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) who is trying and failing to break into show business. Another Sunnydale veteran Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Alexis Denisof) joins him as well as new people Charles Gunn (J. August Richards), Lorne (Andy Hallett) and Fred (Amy Acker). This is a darker, more serious, and more grim spin off of Buffy. The show got off to a rocky start with the loss of Glenn Quinn. He obviously had serious problems and the show stumbled trying to reorganize the group chemistry. They slowly recover as the group adds one character after another. Sure it's darker but it also has its fun comedy. It's a great group of characters.
hanifmuhammad92 Angel is a Gem of a TV show. It is a Masterpiece of the art form by Joss Whedon. Part of the Appeal of Angel is that it mixes so many genres and it does so seamlessly. The series is funny when it needs to be but is also a Dark and Dramatic Film Noir. Angel is a character who is much like Batman. A vigilante that only comes out during the night and spends the days broody over his troubled past.At a certain point it is hard not to get engrossed by this incredible series. Throughout all five seasons I was hooked into the complicated fantasy plots that always turned into something that you least expected. Angel is a deep character that carries this series very well and gives it a soul unlike any other.Season 1- This was an excellent starting point for the series. Cordelia receives a lot of excellent character development here. The Crossovers with Buffy were a joy to watch as well. This season also reveals how noble of a Character Angel is.Season 2: This is when the series branches off into something deep and Epic. The Angel/Darla plot is used to its fullest potential. This is also a great season because it is about friendship. Angel's relationship with his teammates is tested here and it kept me hooked for hours.Season 3: Cordelia's character receives a massive upgrade in this season and the revenge story with Holts is amazing. Darla's story is finally concluded in this epic season.Season 4: Faith returns as her usual bad-ass self and even more Iconic is the return of the infamous Angelous.Season 5: perhaps my favorite season just because my favorite vampire of all time Spike becomes a regular. As one of the main characters in this season he is always attacking Angel. I loved Spike and Angel's rivalry as well as the comparisons between the two characters. After Season 5 the show was ended. Part of me wishes it didn't because this is one of the best shows I have ever seen but I understand that all things have to come to an end and what a way to end such a Great series. If you are the least bit interested in vampires or Fantasy shows at all then this show is a must see. You will not regret it. It's my favorite Television series of all time along with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It's absolutely Phenomenal!
