Being Erica Audience Reviews

TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.
Rexanne It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Midnight_Gypsi Several months ago, I was in a slump. A few things were just going completely awful for me, and I was feeling down and depressed and felt like a failure and my motivation to do anything worthwhile was gone. I was just drowning in a pool of self-pity and regret. Then I accidentally stumbled upon this show, and I must say I am truly happy that I did.It sounds weird to say, but I feel as if this show actually really helped me put my life back in order. If you were to ask me what show/movie had the biggest impact on my life, I'd tell you "Being Erica".Before watching the show, I was prone to regrets - I mean, I'd regret little tiny stupid things from a decade ago, that whoever would've long forgotten. I'd regret things so little, looking back I don't really know how I'd remember those stupid little things. I used to wonder how people could claim they lived without regrets. Thing is, I didn't really understand what they meant. While watching this show, it got me to start thinking from a different angle; maybe, instead of regretting all of these stupid little things, it would be more worth it to pull out lessons, to let yourself grow. The more I watched it, the less I felt like holding on to all of those past regrets and the more I started forcing myself out of my slump. It helped me change some of my views on things, and it helped me change my attitude - it gave me some much needed therapy ;D
jedikitty I just started watching this show and I find it truly enjoyable. At first, I thought this will be a "girly" show and, to some degree, it is but it is growing on me. I am about to watch episode 11 of the first season and all I can say is "give me more". Erica, the main character, seems so much like many of us - a real person with real issues, worries and uncertainties. There is nothing wrong with wanting to fix errors of one's past and Erica is lucky enough to be given this opportunity. Dr. Tom is kind and patient, helpful and gentle, but he does not tell Erica what she must do or how she must behave. Instead, he lets her make her own choices and discover the best, at least under the circumstances, ways of resolving the "things that keep her up at night".I do not mind Dr. Tom's cleverly chosen quotes at all, and I strongly disagree with one of the posters saying that if you were allowed to go back and change your past, that would change you. I don't think it would change "you" but I believe it would help you be happy and make sure others are too, especially the people hurt by our actions in the past. What's wrong with that? How many of us wish we could go back and fix some of our screw-ups? I, for one, do. To me, the message in this show is pretty clear: do your best as in real life there are no lifeguards on duty, there are no second chances, or do-overs. One thing I'm having a bit of a problem accepting is Erica often acting like a doormat, especially when interacting with Julianna (the boss from hell), and I wish Erica grew a pair and stood up to the leech. Other than that, I like this show very much and will be following Erica's adventures for as long as the network decides to run it.
sxser It's just not like any other, it begs the question yourself what would you do, what would you change and what if you could, would the outcome be any different. By your own nature yet knowing the former outcome would you take the risk to change it. I really get the show I being almost 30 years old, I wonder about my life and the choices I made to get where I am. That is why the show is great it begs just that question. If you could do your whole life over again is there anything you would change, I think almost everyone would say yes. The show in itself is a self help book, to understand yourself the choices you've made, and change the things you don't like moving forward. I only saw the 1st season but can't wait for more.
Kath P I read the last comment .. and WHAT !! This show is great..its light hearted, funny, romantic, hopeful. Erica and Ethan are just awesome.. and I'm only up to watching episode 4... I'm hooked.. And to the powers that be, you better see this show for what it is, before canceling it for what they think it isn't !!!!! oh... i love this show!!! :-) Cant you tell !! So many shows are canceled before they get to even realise their full potential... there is nothing wrong with taking the time to set the scene.....if they didn't do they then the writers would be criticised for trying to hard to cut to the chase .. and the viewer wouldn't appreciate the little moments that have been a long time coming if you know what i mean. Watch this show!! Its definitely well worth the time..
