Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

Grandpre I rewatch it and am astounded every time. Just a fantastic show.

shammad-38179 What a waste of time! Well acted, well directed, well shot, but the story....non existent! Such a let down and unfortunately, such a waste of time for something so promising that ultimately amounted to nothing.

user-64086 I don't mind swearing and I certainly wouldn't be watching an HBO show if I was a prude or squeamish. That being said, if the writers omitted the words; F#@K, @unt, and especially @ocksucker from the dialog, the episodes would be reduced from 50mins down to 15mins. I'm not exaggerating the over saturation of the swearing and the word @ocksucker is often used several times in a sentence and throughout the entirety of each episode. It reminds me of the stupidity of the Battlestar Galactica fetish for the fake word "frak" Other than their lack of a thesaurus, the show is watchable and seems to be well acted and thought out.

gofastergetrounder Deadwood manages to transcend its medium: It is worthy of being called literature. During the first two episodes, the language almost dissuaded me from watching further. I am very glad I continued to watch. Deadwood ranks at the very top of the Mini-series genre. I'd put a couple up there with it, including The Wire, The Killing, Line of Duty, and the first few seasons of Game of Thrones and the first 3 seasons of Lost, all of which I found massively entertaining. I would not, however, rank anything above it. It is huge. What an unfathomable shame they didn't do more than three seasons.
