Murphy Howard I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

prydain17 "Demons" is a series that, on paper, sounds great to me. The British series is about a teenager named Luke Rutherford, who lives with his single mother after his father passed away many years ago. After meeting his godfather, Rupert Galvin, Luke discovers he is the last in the line of the Van Helsings, who are called "smiters" (demon slayers). The show follows the adventures of Luke and Rupert, Rupert's friend Mina Harker and Luke's best friend Ruby, who has a crush on Luke but he seems oblivious to it.The show is, at least, somewhat entertaining. However the mythology is extremely vague, characters come and go and there's no feeling of cohesiveness to the story. The plot sometimes takes a while to get going and every one of the six episodes, except maybe the second one, is just very anti-climatic. I finished the series because it was only 6 episodes and after finishing half of it I felt obligated to finish.It's a shame the show is such a mess, there is real promise here but it was simply mishandled.

nate878 The series has a fairly unique look but ultimately follows the same cliché progression as other dark-fantasy vigilante type shows that have aired before. The main difference being that the acting is mostly sub-standard and the characters are hardly compelling - aside from the villainous freaks. Despite all this, it has potential as its loosely determined universe of "freaks" has the potential to yield some interesting plot scenarios as the Dr. Who universe did. As another plus, the series' cheesiness can be comical if you can let yourself go for a moment.Hopefully as the series progresses it will enter into more gray territory with the nature of the "freaks" being explored and what appears to be a dark past behind some of the protagonists.

megcosmene I love Sci-fi, and I love British Sci-fi especially; Dr. Who, Life on Mars,etc.. but this show is horrific. It wasn't the American accent, I actually didn't think it was that bad (doesn't anyone remember Kevin Costner trying to do an English accent in Robin Hood) it was the writing and the 'Monsters'. "I'll smite you", "Luke, you must believe", the fact that they call the monsters 'Freaks' and that they actually had a monster that pooped out of his mouth; are they trying to be a combo of Buffy and South Park? And what the heck was that Bird-Man thing, did anyone else notice that he actually squawked when he died. I realize that everyone is pointing out the Buffy similarities, or the fact that this is really the British mirror image of Buffy, but that would be OK with me if they at least did it some justice.My biggest question, if there are only 6 episodes and the actors have already moved on to other shows, why is BBC-America even showing it? My recommendation - Do not watch this piece of poop

Alex Hillier After Merlin came to an end my wife and I were delighted to find that Demons adequately fills the gap left by that series. Once again I find that the whiners and moaners have come out of the woodwork with comments about poor SFX and ripped off plot lines and once more we find those smart asses who, without actually checking their facts, bleat about incorrect parts of the script (Mina & Jonathon Harker's son Quincey for instance. To all of them I say get a life, it's an entertainment - simply remove your brain, sit back and enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it switch channel or turn your TV off and get some exercise. I shall continue watching and enjoying. Someone wrote that Ruby is 'hot' - so she is but Mina smoulders. I even like Mr Glenister's portrayal of that miserable sod Galvin.
