Spidersecu Don't Believe the Hype
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Angelus2 I watched this show when it first aired on Sky One..It was a show about two cops who go undercover and stop the bad guys...I caught a few episodes and was mesmerised simply because..well, I was young and gullible...I recently watched the first twenty minutes and I have to say, this is absolutely awful. The writing is bad..I mean how many shows have we seen with the death of a fellow partner...or the terrible dialogue....The cinematography is far too bright...the costumes are absolutely ridiculous..the senior police bosses dress more like Pimps and the acting...well, let's just say it's not displayed very well...I guess the producers tried to catch onto the 'Miami Vice' vibe..but even 'Miami Vice' grew up with the changing times...
flapreview Fast Lane is a real nice show. It is cheesy in terms of direction and visuals with all that thief/cops thing, but the storyline is good and it's really really well produced indeed. Even if you can say "I think I've seen that before" you will be amazed to see that if it has just been done over and over, it was very well done. Although it comes along movies like Fast and Furious - which is a cheesy movie itself - , the show has nothing to do with that movie, and in my opinion it's way much better than it in terms of story, acting, beauty direction and final production. Fast Lane is just what people look for in terms of entertaining: cars, races, guns, police/thieves and beautiful people all throughout, all that in an excellent production and direction.
Ryan Fastlane was and still is a great entertaining show with awesome stories, great music, fast cars and hot women all with cool stunts. Fox was stupid for ending the show, but then Fox TV is known for canceling good shows or trying to cancel good shows like Prison Break and Family Guy, Fox TV must be run by brainless monkeys, hello, they canceled Firefly just as it was building momentum and getting really really good. I read that Fastlane was ended because of high production costs, but I believe that is just a cover up for Fox TV stupidity. Fox even ended the series with no closure and left the viewers hanging. You can still watch Fastlane on G4 TV and it was aired on Court TV for a short time! I hope they release it on DVD soon.
Stibbert When seeing this show you can't help thinking Miami Vice. It has very much in common and it's not trying to hide it. They've got inspiration from it and they obviously show references to Miami Vice. The pilot contains tons of references and a story similar to the pilot of Miami Vice. Never the less Fastlane is a show that can stand on it's own with good stories and good looks. However, if you're a fan of Miami Vice you probably won't like this.Fastlane follows the two undercover cops Deaqon 'Deaq' Hayes and Donovan 'Van' Ray. They are recruited to a "secret" branch of the police. They take down the lowest and highest criminals in LA with a new approach to law enforcement: "You don't drop cover, you never flash a badge. Everything we seize we keep. Everything we keep we use".The stories are OK. The are thrilling and the writing is not bad. They mix drama, comedy and action. Deaq and Van are two good characters. They are funny and goes well together. Of course this show has it's flaws. Some elements are really stupid and unrealistic and it drags the whole show down a bit. As for the two actors Peter Facinelli and Bill Bellamy they fits these roles good. Their performances are good and they manage to mix the funny part, the action part and the drama part very nicely. The editing for this show is quite out of the ordinary. First of all it's nicely shot. The pictures are good looking with nice lightning and composition. Then there is the editing. They use a lot of slow motion and have this weird switch back and forth from widescreen to 4:3 to several pictures at once. In any other series this would just look stupid, but on Fastlane it kind of works. This way of editing fits show and the way it's mixed with music it becomes a unique look and style for the show. However, they kind of overdo the whole fancy editing thing a bit. It's cool and all, but that cool it's not. All in all Fastlane can be OK. It's not the best on TV and it aims at younger people, but if you take it for what it is, just simple entertainment it can be an enjoyable show.
