Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Lachlan Coulson This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
Myriam Nys Having liked the book by Robert J. Sawyer, I was excited to learn of the existence of a series. The series, as it turns out, deviated sharply from its source material - Heaven knows why, since the book was pretty good. So a classic question arises : why buy the rights to a book, if you're going to take plot lines, characters, names, premises,.. and toss them around with wild abandon ? If you like to be creative with printed matter : there are whole storehouses for old or second-hand paper. Anyhow. The series bears watching, even though it is a very very loose adaptation. (If this were a woman instead of a show, it would be wearing a ton of make-up, a T-shirt saying "No rolex no sex", a black leather miniskirt and fishnet stockings. It's as loose as that.) Part drama, part thriller, part science fiction, it's both suspenseful and entertaining, with some remarkable visual and special effects. And some of the philosophical questions it asks remain pertinent. Is our future fixed or changeable ? What is our own role in bringing about that future, or, as the case may be, these futures ? How should one respond, for instance, if one knew - absolutely knew - that one was going to die within the next months ? With fear, bitterness, elation, patience, violence ? Does one even know how one is going to react ?Sadly the series was cancelled after a single season, which means that the work was cut off in mid-flow. It's a pity.
bluesquirrel2004 The premise was attractive and I looked forward to Amazon's delivery. By the tenth episode, I was conflicted on my feelings for this show.I found that I was enjoying the story-line and the events that were unfolding, but had a severe dislike for lead actor Joseph Fiennes. I found his acting range to be so narrow that it was almost non-existent. The same paralysed facial expression in every episode was somewhat distracting. His serious expression (which looked the same as every other expression) made us giggle.Maybe this show would have continued with a different lead actor? Who knows, but I would loved to have seen what unfolded after the cliffhanger ending.Maybe a second season with a new agency taking over the investigation would be feasible in the FlashForward universe.
nicole-724-936229 I just watched the entire season online in about 10 days. I couldn't stop watching it. The best show I have seen in a long time. The concept, twists, and the intensity of all the characters potential futures unfolding kept me coming back wondering whats going to really happen. I was on the edge of my seat with eyes pealed to my computer monitor. It took me on an emotional roller-coaster where I was in shock, laughing, crying and curious on what is going to happen. This is what kept me coming back.I didn't watch it when it was on TV because i didn't know about it. I am saddened to see there was no second season, because of perceived loss of viewers. How do they figure out how they lost viewers anyway? Marketing and promotion was obviously uncreative and didn't show what it was about, and probably didn't reach people who are online more than on TV, like me. The cancellation is all bs, and about the money. I have a feeling that the expenses on making a show like this thats worth watching is so high that they are not making any money from it. Thats why shows like this get canceled and reality TV gets all the time slots. Reality shows don't cost as much to produce, No explosions and special effects, stunts high demanding actors etc. Its a shame that everything always comes down to the money while everything else suffers and gets stifled. Don't worry ABC i see your future if you don't start producing shows that people actually want to see. Not many people i know watch TV anymore, and that number is increasing. No watchers, sponsorship, no money no network unless you change something. Maybe showing controversial documentaries, independent films, and shows like this will get you back some of those people.
spidermonkey220 I know this show was aired a while ago but i have just gone through all episodes and i'm sorry if people think its bad acting but i thought it was amazing, There was one or two parts that had me a bit judgmental on their directing and the rest of it was so great,But it really left me wanting to see more, i want to know more and i would love to carry on watching more as i'm sure a lot of people would of agreed at the time, Now is a perfect time to bring it back, FYI ! Thoroughly enjoyed all of it !!
