Gracepoint Audience Reviews

Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Stephan Hammond It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
aey82 I watched Broadchurch first and thought that it was amazing. The cast was great with their characters. Olivia Coleman did a wonderful job as DS Ellie Miller and David Tennant did a wonderful job as DI Alec Hardy. And the ending where it was Joe Miller who was the killer was just unnerving. I love British shows. However Gracepoint which based on Broadchurch was just as good as the original. Anna Gunn did great and put her own little bits as Detective Ellie Miller. And David had an amazing American accent playing Detective Emmet Carver, though his native Scottish did leak through every once in a while. And his performance when both of his characters, Alec and Emmet, collapsing on the job, OMG. And then the twist of where it isn't Joe who killed Danny, but his best friend, Tom. Just absolutely, positively brilliant. I'd recommend this show to anyone
ivegonemod I really enjoyed the series. I thought it moved at a slow pace, but somehow that seemed fitting for the setting. The acting was really good for the most part, I can't say anyone was bad.I didn't care for the way it ended. I never like endings that don't really end, you have to guess what happened for yourself. I don't get the feeling that a second season is coming, what would be the point? The story is over. It ended the way they obviously wanted it to.The one character I didn't like was Susan. She was too creepy for me.It didn't matter to me that I was unfamiliar with the majority of the cast. I knew Kevin Zegers from Titanic: Blood and steel, but he didn't do all that much here.I've seen lots of things where I knew all of the cast, and it still stank, so that doesn't say much for familiar casts.
deniseschickel Love this show! Can't wait for the next episode. I originally started watching it because of David Tennant - saw him in another drama recently and wanted more. He is amazing. Love to watch him. The plot is interesting, lots of characters with their own story lines, complex relationships and plenty of mystery.Just saw an article on the possibility that it may not be renewed! Had to write a review to ask Please Don't Cancel This Show! Especially because we don't have a conclusion to the crime yet. There are plenty of characters in this show to merit more story lines in the future. Keep it going! Think the writing is excellent.
Aregie I am generally not fond of remakes. But I haven't watched Broadchurch, and I am glad, because it hasn't influenced my watching this show with an objective eye. Reading some of the reviews, I am really surprised at the criticism, and I'll bet that at least half of it is based in comparison. Other comments, though, like uneven accents - who cares? Why can't a Brit play an American? It's a shame, I think, that this couldn't have been a Canadian network production, as it was filmed in Canada with a Canadian supporting cast. The blend of accents doesn't bother me. The acting is extremely good, and naturalistic, as is the script. There is some really artful camera work. The story is unfolding in a very compelling way, which leaves me wanting more. As the series goes on, it's beginning to have a little Twin Peaks flavour. Best thing I have seen in a long time.
