Info

Norskov is a police drama that takes place in an industrial city in northern Denmark. The city is raw and unsentimental, and the financial crisis has left its mark, but there is still a lot of community spirit and empowerment. In the series we follow the policeman Tom Noack, who returns to the city he left almost 20 years ago, and his two childhood friends who in the meantime have become the mayor and primary contractor.

Norskov Audience Reviews

Dotsthavesp I wanted to but couldn't!
Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Cheryl A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
guylyonsntlworldcom I am now into episode 5, and enjoying this series very much. Checking with catch up t v I noted this series, episode 1. The day was wet and windy, so I checked this unknown series out, so am binge watching big time !! So far it is highly enjoyable, with it's simple to understand script yet the story has its complexities, which add suspense , and keeps you hooked. Fine acting, good visuals, and an excellent soundtrack, makes this a great watch. Just about every Walter presents series I have seen, is darned good, and this one is keeping up the trend.
lindajean4044 I binged the entire 10 episodes. This is not an action flick. It went slow and methodical. What I particularly liked was the friendship/bromance between the three leading men. Another bit of fresh air was that the writers went outside the usual plot line that most every movie or series offers, and that is this: Usually when there is a discretion and someone knows something another person should know, they do not tell that person, and this way the writers drag a plot line out. I was pleasantly surprised to see this did not happen in this series except at the very end, when we are all hit with a revealing secret that totally surprises us. It is a whopper! After watching a few subtitled series it is pleasing to encourage others to give international series a try as the subtitles do not distract from the story at all! I watched it on Walter Presents.
qui_j Although this is very slow moving, it does hold your attention every step of the way. For once the leading men are not scruffy, stubbled individuals who make it look like there's a shortage of shaving equipment in Scandinavia. The close friendship between the 3 leading men is key to the movie, as the theme of betrayal has even greater impact. The story is solid, and the depth of all the characters explored deeply, no matter whether good or bad characteristics. The other good thing about this series is that it does not have the "preachiness" about global and environmental issues, a feature that seems to be a constant in Scandinavian TV and films. The negatives are really some choppy editing where shots from earlier scenes seem to appear in the scene being watched, with no relevance to the current scene at all. After a while, the extreme closeups of the actors' eyes, face, mouth, lips all become annoying and really lend little to the plot. Overall, it's a great series to binge on!
Bene Cumb Approximately 10 years have the Nordic nations, beginning from the Danes, gladdened us with versatile, distinct and intertwining crime thrillers. One might think that all has been said and done, nothing could surprise anymore, but still, from time to time, fresh stories with new angles and approaches come out. Norskov is a good example of the latter in several aspects. First, the cast is different from many other series (sometimes it seems this 5.7 million nation has a couple of dozens major film actors only, all talented though); here, is spite of being an eager follower, the majority of performers were unknown to me, I could recall 2-3 from a few films or series). But they all did well and I would like to retain many them in my thoughts (e.g. Thomas Levin, Claus Riis Østergaard) while watching Danish thrillers in the future. Second, lots of scenes around ice-hockey, which is not a major sports in Denmark (vis-à-vis Sweden and Finland). But all the rest is a pleasant get-together with a pleasant Danish thriller - calm pace/events/performers (even in the police), multifaceted relations, environment (here: urban) and music in assisting to create the mood/background, etc. Perhaps some events and ties were revealed too soon, but still, the suspense was maintained and a "genealogy twist" in the very ending rounded the 10 episodes up in a satisfying manner. Another success in the Danish series market!
