Simply fun. If you preferred the slower original, this might feel energetic for your taste. Power wasn't exactly true to life, unlike The Wire or similar crime dramas. This one's a quicker, thrilling adrenaline surge. Personally, I found the most enjoyment in it because of Joseph Sikora's portrayal of Tommy Egan, a completely uninhibited guy. It's a bit exaggerated, but in a good way. Definitely an improvement over the mumbling Tariq series.
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
disgusting, overrated, pointless
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
