Power & Ice introduces viewers to the brave men who maintain and build the remote and rugged Alaskan power grid. The series follows three fiercely competitive line companies as they battle freezing temperatures, devastating storms and zero visibility to bring power to people whose lives depend on a constant flow of electricity. The highly skilled employees of Alaska Line Builders, Electric Power Constructors and City Electric will compete for the life-threatening big-money jobs found only in the 49th State. These men work in a dog-eat-dog world, but they get a charge from putting their lives on the line.

Power & Ice Audience Reviews

SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
RipDelight This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
williamtfisher You wingnuts are an embarrassment to the IBEW. Even if your incompetence is scripted by the show, you look like idiots. Wrecking trucks, losing poles, not wearing hardhats, wrecking snowmobiles... really? No wonder they picked Alaska for this group of losers. You'd never make it down here.So you tested the line dead and when you ground you say "Here goes nothing." What does that mean? Are you saying there's a risk? You tested the line dead. There is no risk now. "Here goes nothing." YOU are nothing.Every REAL lineman is laughing at you sellouts.
dfdemt I noticed proof in episode two that this show is scripted. When the guy walks out of the office and punches out the drivers side window of the pick up truck in anger, there is a camera shot from INSIDE the truck showing the guys fist coming through the window, the window breaking, and the glass falling into the truck toward the camera. Unless that scene was scripted, there's no way that the cameraman could have known that he was going to do that. Also, the window was rolled down a little bit, making it much easier to break by punching it. Lastly, the truck looks to be worn out and old and you can briefly see the inside of the door. It appears that the inside door panel has been removed, leading one to believe that this was an old truck that they picked to use just for this scene.
