Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
davidberry-60933 If watched in the afternoon or early evening this is a fun hour of entertaining TV.But here is a little secret, if you have trouble sleeping, try watching this late at night in bed. It is miraculous, it sends both myself and my wife to sleep, 100% guaranteed. It isn't because it is a bad show, or boring, or not entertaining, but something about the pace of this show when watched in bed is guaranteed to put you to sleep. It is an adult lullaby! We have watched this entire series 3 times now, neither of us have seen all episodes yet, we keep going to sleep during them! If we have trouble sleeping, we put it on, 10-15 minutes later we are fast asleep.I usually rate shows based upon quality, and there is nothing wrong with the quality of this show, on pure quality it gets 7/10. But as a sleep aid it is exceptional, better than any available drug and without any side affects. This is a show you should store on a DVR and to be used for both entertainment and as a sleep aid.
annmason24 Like the flower in "The Italian Rapscallion" episode, a good, nonviolent, lovely, mystery series blooms once after 25 years and then dies.I feel that "Rosemary and Thyme" is such a rare gift to television, a morass of cheap "reality" shows that dispense with the nuisance of paying those pesky writers, and insult Americans' intelligence.Speaking as an American, I only watch British television, and Love the old sitcoms. These productions are smooth, clever, and not blood spattered. They actually have (wait for it...PLOTS), and excellent writing as well as characters who are surgically unenhanced and, believe it or not, older than 30! "Rosemary and Thyme" isn't perfect; but it sure beats whatever is in second place!
ladybug2535 I was highly entertained by this program. While the episodes weren't particularly difficult brain teasers, the mysteries were adequately engaging and intriguing while the characters well drawn with logical motives (generally explained at the end). I liked that the show avoided obvious red herrings, and didn't try to "trick" the viewers with hidden clues; though sometimes the guilty party was a bit too easy to figure out (and sometimes too early which can spoil the progress of the story line), while our amateur sleuths were still stumbling about--nonetheless a fun exercise for us armchair detectives.I really enjoyed the main characters. I thought they were well-matched and eccentric enough to be interesting without being too annoying. The guest characters were all pretty well fleshed out as well, which helped the show a great deal. I thought the fact that they were gardeners was a unique hook that gave them reasonable access to the nooks and crannies of the parks and residences they were investigating, as well as a somewhat plausible excuse for stumbling over so many bodies. If you dig deep enough, wide enough and in enough places, you're bound to come up with something....I was lucky enough to be able to binge watch all three seasons--which offers both pros and cons. The unlikelihood of these two women constantly becoming embroiled in a new murder mystery each week becomes much less plausible when you watch the shows back to back like I did, but then that's the case with any program of this nature. The bickering between the two main characters also became a bit more annoying than if the episodes had been watched a week apart--but I can hardly fault the program for the way I decided to devour three seasons in one go.The fact that the program managed to keep me involved and guessing right along with the cast for the full three seasons is a compliment to the writers. It can't be easy to come up with unique murder mysteries for that many episodes, yet they did manage to avoid feeling repetitious for the most part. I even managed to learn a bit about plants and gardening that I hadn't known. Good job! In all honesty, while I understand why many people would be disappointed by the cancellation of this program, after 3 seasons it had started to feel a bit stale. Again, though, if I was watching it as it had aired weekly with summer breaks or whatever, I may not have felt that way at all, so take this opinion for what it deserves. Overall an entertaining program worth a go!
Syl I was saddened to hear that last night's episode of this show was the last of the series. I found the platonic chemistry between Felicity Kendal CBE and Pam Ferris to be very entertaining. Felicity's Rosemary Boxer is more down to earth, sensible, and smart while Pam's Laura Thyme is quite charming to watch as well. They work very well together and it would be a terrible shame to end the series now. Granted, two female gardeners working on grand estates where murders occur is unlikely to happen in reality but it's not real. It's television after all and I hope that they would bring them back together for another series. Last night's episode featured one of my favorites like Anne Lambton as Queenie and the storyline was not magnificent but worth watching. In one hour, they solved a double homicide with twists and turns but also kept me guessing and entertained at the same time. The British love their gardens and murder mysteries now they have combined two hobbies into one for an entertaining show to be shown for years on television.
