Speed Racer X, known in Japan as Mach Go Go Go, is a remake of the original 1967 series produced by Tatsunoko Production, the same studio that did the original. The show originally aired in Japan in 1997 on TV Tokyo and lasted only 34 episodes of a planned 52. An English adaptation was later produced by DIC Entertainment and aired in the United States on Nickelodeon's short-lived action block, Slam. This show was quickly taken off the air due to a lawsuit between DiC and the Santa Monica-based Speed Racer Enterprises, the company which owns the American rights of the franchise.

Speed Racer X Audience Reviews

GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
noukina_v018 It was such a great show and they had to ruin it for the fans over a lawsuit. Couldn't they just solve it to keep the show running? I loved the original series that aired in Cartoon Network, but seriously they made a poor attempt with the Next Generation. That was just awful and pales in comparison with Speed Racer X. I'm still trying to find English subtitles. No use if I try to watch in Spanish, French or Portuguese... It's only available in Japanese :/ Any hope they would revive and continue dubbing Speed Racer X? I wish they had a new series in the works. But something worth watching for goodness sake. And don't get me started with the movie.I was so disappointed with it. I mean, it's Speed Racer! Get hold on something that appeals to the fans and to the ones who grew up watching or reading it...
ShelbyTMItchell Only a few episodes were made. As a company called DIC got sued, by the Speed Racer Enterprises that owns the USA rights to the show. But really I liked it. And wished that it could had gotten more episodes. But only 13 were dubbed in English. There are differences in the cartoon however. Speed's older brother Rex rather than run away from home in the original, but was "killed" in a car wreck but again he is disguised as the mysterious Racer X, of course unknown to anybody, Speed included. Also Sprittle who was the younger kid brother of Speed in the original but now the younger kid brother of Speed's sometimes girlfriend Trixie, now a reporter for a racing magazine. Still I liked the cartoon. And really wished it did not get taken off due to the lawsuit.
