The Big C Audience Reviews

Lawbolisted Powerful
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Lightdeossk Captivating movie !
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Shopaholic35 The Big C has it's moments when you can just let go and laugh but the majority of the time it revels in its own sadness. It would be difficult for a show that is based on this subject matter to not be somewhat depressing but overall there are moments of light. Although it can be quite dark that does not mean that it's not an entertaining show. It's very insightful and seems quite realistic. I know if I found out I had cancer I might behave this way.I personally think this show only needed 2-3 seasons max as it got a little slow towards the end but it was still pretty good. But honestly give it a chance as it is quite inspiring. Other peoples sadness and misfortune has a way of making you reflect on your own life and realise what you truly have.
sfsarahfloyd I had no intention of enjoying this show , it didn't appeal to me in the description or the look of it ..the actors looked unlikable but I was looking for shows on demand and this one started from season 1 , and was only 28 min episodes so i was like OK I'll give it a shot.. Now I'm 1/2 way through the 3rd season in a matter of days .. I watched the entire season 1 by myself ..laughed , cried , and fell in love .. now my boyfriend , my sister , basically everyone I know are hooked ..its funny b/c I am the only one with show time so i have people calling to see if i mind if they come watch the show with someone they know in my spare room lol ...and I am hearing the song game called life opening playing in my head and became fans of sia's song lullaby from Adam's scene and every other artist on the show leading me to a whole new type of music , which puts me in fresh kind of mood and I am not even playing ... I have never had so much change in my life from one TV show's influence .. I actually have never reviewed any thing or rated anything on IMDb ..but I looked up the credits for the producers and directors names lol (another 1st) . My boyfriend is a mechanic ..he likes funny shows spike speed channel comedy channel or something like snapped ,ancient secrets football and fast cars and right now his favorite show is the Big C ..its a contagious amazing show !!!!!!! I wish it wouldn't come to an end !!!
PartialMovieViewer Sorry folks…nothing blowing up; no tense shootouts, or squeamishly decomposing bodies laying around some gutter somewhere…this show is not for me. The cast is OK and the acting is better than mediocre. Like many shows now-a-days, the weekly scripts are more skewed towards progressive issues than how people react to cancer. Since it is not a 'guy show', I will let much of the touchy-feely garbage go. It just wouldn't be fair for me to tear this program down. For me, the script seems to be irritating and really juvenile. I will probably not watch this show ever again, although I am sure there are many people out in the world who really like it. Respecting those who enjoy the program, I will not rattle the cage. Since this is not my favorite show venue, I will give it a couple of stars.
gwarwyn I liked this show at first Laura Linney is fabulous as is the guy who plays her hubby though I can't remember the actor's name. But one of the reviews is right it's not realistic or true to life and it's American. Cancer is serious, if your GP even suspected you may have it and was going to send you to a specialist or a cancer hospital you'd take your spouse otherwise what kind of relationship do you have? or failing them a parent or a sibling. I don't know many people who can go to a specialist without someone. Besides that even with cancer (which yes i do have) you don't just drop your life and start doing crazy things that's what people on TV do it's called escapism. And being diagnosed terminal yeah you'd want to do things you may have put off or not got round to but I for one would want to spend as much time with the people I love close around me most of all. Not push them away to do stupid things and indulge selfish whims. Cancer shouldn't be an excuse for being bad or good, it just is what it is, and we do our best and live our lives, and it's hard, being ill is not a happy place to be. But I've always believed that you should make the best of what you've got.
