The Crazy Ones Audience Reviews

UnowPriceless hyped garbage
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
kellymarcalston I thought I would give this a try as this was the last hurrah for Robin Williams on TV. The writing is just awful and while I like most of the cast in other things, Robin mugs throughout, Sarah does a mock look of horror/outrage/embarrassment about 1000 times an episode and James Wolk is miscast as Robin's obnoxious doppleganger. Special opposite of a shout out to Amanda Setton for being the weak link in yet another sitcom (she was unwatchable on 'The Mindy Project').OK, one true shout out for Hamish Linklater who was also the MVP on 'The New Adventures of Old Christine' and can apparently make any POS shine brighter. It's no doubt his theater training but thank you Jesus that he makes this show somewhat watchable.
Rusticcrayon My wife and I were invited to watch a secret screening of a show while we were staying in Las Vegas, which turned out to be an episode of "The Crazy Ones".I will say straight of the bat that my wife and I are British so this does mean we may not necessarily agree with how Americans may see this show.Anyway we both watched the episode where the office gets a cold and they have to launch a doll. We had to track how much we laughed or found the script entertaining from 0 - 10, with 0 being get me out of here this is the worst, through to 10 were everyone should be laughing out loud. Anyway after watching the show for what seemed like an age it ended and I realised I hadn't even moved the dial to more that a 4 which was when the credits came up as I felt relief that this show was over. I asked my wife whether I had missed something as I didn't find the show funny in the slightest and the humour was extremely basic, almost virgin on what I might expect my children to watch on a Disney channel show. She also agreed that this was very basic and unoriginal and didn't laugh at all through the show. This was a real shame as Both my wife and I like Robin Williams, but the script in the show was just so weak not even he could lift it to any level. As for the rest of the characters neither my wife or I can remember any of them as they didn't engage us at all and we really didn't care what happened to them. The show tries to be clever but approaches things in such a childish manner it fails badly. Unfortunately this show sums up the stereo type view of humour the British have of American sitcoms - childish, basic and predictable As it happens this show hasn't made it to British shores which I guess means at least someone filtered this dross from spreading any further. But maybe this show reflects American culture and we Brits wont get it, after all the our shows, such as the Office, Inbetweeners, Queer as folk etc..... didn't translate well into US series.
tommyz Another show claiming to be based in Chicago. This show is not filmed in Chicago and it shows. There was a driving scene and nothing looked like Chicago.People from Chicago don't refer to it as Lake Michigan, it's "The Lake" It drives me nuts when shows do things like this. If you're going to make a show based in Chicago, make an effort. Heck film the show in the town, it will be so much more real and better.Look at Chicago Fire, CF screams Chicago. They did there homework, and they film there. Makes the show real and you get the feeling of the town.Aside from the horrible non-Chicago feel, the show is OK. Some of the jokes are funny. I really like Robin Williams and it's too bad he got caught up in this.If you're listening "The crazy one's" do a little homework and make the show real.
cherylk22 I don't agree with the reviewers who said that the actors in this show have no chemistry or that Sarah Michelle Gellar has no knack for comedy. After watching two episodes of this show, I think it's a great ensemble comedy, and I think that Gellar has some incredible comedic moments and works well at times as a "straight man" for Robin Williams. In her first starring role as Buffy, she had a few opportunities to be funny (such as the "Buffy wants beer" episode) that showed her potential. At times, "The Crazy Ones" reminds me of "WKRP in Cincinnati, which is a huge compliment for me. I guess this show isn't for everyone, but it looks like a big hit to me.
