Info

Set in Valco, a fictional budget supermarket in the north west of England, Trollied finds the funny in one of our most familiar surroundings and focuses on the types of characters we all recognise: bored checkout staff, ineffectual managers and a range of customers, from the irate to the downright bizarre.

Trollied Audience Reviews

HeadlinesExotic Boring
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Caryl It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
juddynz I borrowed the DVD on the strength of the 'rave' reviews here saying it was hilarious and very funny. Sadly, I didn't find it funny at all. I didn't like any of the characters. Julie, especially, is so annoying. I really wanted to like this as there is so little comedy around these days, but it just didn't do it for me. Comic moments, for me, have to be unexpected to make me laugh and I just found each episode predictable and lame. I didn't even bother to finish watching the whole DVD set. Life is too short to watch stuff you don't enjoy.
Callum Metcalfe I started watching 'Trollied' in the Summer of last year when I caught up on the first four series within a matter of days! I was glued to each episode as I found all the characters both interesting and entertaining. It has to be one of the only television programmes in existence where I like every single character. However, my favourite HAS to be the elderly worker there, Margaret. The programme is wonderfully and cleverly scripted, each line hidden with jokes for all demographics of viewers. The cast are well blended too, each of them adding something different to the mix.My only complaint that stops me giving it full marks is there aren't enough episodes in each series!
Paul Evans Set in the fictional northern supermarket Valco, Trollied looks at the everyday working life of its employees. At the helm is Gavin, he does his best to run a happy and tight ship, but as with any business, not everything runs as smoothly as it should.I've been an avid fan of Trollied since it began, Series 1 and 2 were fantastically funny, the dynamic between Jason Watkins and Jane Horrocks was hilarious, I also loved Stephanie Beacham's Lorraine. I liked Colin and Lisa's unlikely relationship too. Series 3 was a disaster, as others have rightly said the Richard France character made me switch off. Series 4 was OK, but Series 5 seems very much back on track, getting Sarah Parish on board has made all the difference.I love Linda and Sue on the service desk, I am so glad they've stayed on the show, they're great. Margaret is wonderfully funny, I'm a big fan of Rita May. I must admit I am missing Kieran, Leighton and Julie. It's such a difficult show to review because it has contained highs and lows, I'll score it 8/10, because when it's been good it's been great, we'll forgive them for Series 3.
milero91 I started watching the show a few weeks back and am at the end of season 3. I found this show really difficult to rate for the below reason:Season 1 - 8 Season 2 -7.5 Season 3 - 4What happened in season 3? The introduction of Richard France was, in my opinion, the worst thing to happen to the show. His character is just awful, over the top, annoying and unfunny. The charm of the show in the earlier seasons was that it felt like a mocumentary of a super market but by season 3 the feeling of the show has changed. Shame.
