Enos is an American television series from the 1980–1981 season that aired on the CBS network. A spinoff of The Dukes of Hazzard, Enos focused on the adventures of Enos Strate, a former small-town deputy in Hazzard County, after having moved to Los Angeles to join the L.A.P.D. Each episode featured Enos, alongside his partner Turk, and usually began and ended with Enos writing a letter to Daisy Duke in which he told her of his adventures in Los Angeles. Enos Strate was portrayed by actor Sonny Shroyer in both series. In an attempt to boost ratings, a number of characters from The Dukes of Hazzard were brought in as guest stars but the show still failed to catch on. It was canceled after one eighteen episode season and the character consequently returned to The Dukes of Hazzard in the fall of 1982. In the CBS movie specials The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! and The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood!, it was explained that Enos had returned to the L.A.P.D. where he was now a detective after having served on the force for fifteen years.

Enos Audience Reviews

SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Spidersecu Don't Believe the Hype
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
lightninboy Yeah, Enos was like McCloud and Gomer Pyle, who was based on Andy Griffith's character in No Time For Sergeants. Enos's personal car was something like a 1968 or 1969 Chevelle with a Weiand tunnel ram intake manifold and two four-barrels. He bought it in California with money from selling some hogs back at home in Georgia. Funny, I never heard of Enos's hogs on The Dukes of Hazzard. Does his family tend his hogs for him while he's away from home? Maybe hogs run wild in Georgia like branded cattle in the West. Enos was always talking about his hogs back at home. Enos and Turk got involved in prosecuting prostitutes (Enos called them "harlots"), cracking down on cocaine traffickers, and going to Nevada for a prisoner. There was an episode with a lady truck driver, and Enos showed he could drive a truck. Obviously the only people who watched Enos were his fans from The Dukes of Hazzard, but the show might have lasted at least another season, you'd think. Actually, it might have had more potential than the DOH. Gomer Pyle lasted more than one season.
Brian Washington This is one show that should have been on for more than one year. This was basically a tongue and cheek version of all the so-called "super cop" shows and for the life of me I don't know why it was canceled. The story took naive deputy Enos Strate and move him to the big city of Los Angeles where he and his partner Turk were somehow able to solve every major crime they stumbled upon. This show pretty much had the car chases of the Dukes of Hazzard, the fish out of water premise of McCloud and Enos' innocent nature was very reminiscent of Gomer Pyle. This was a very enjoyable show to watch and even though it had lots of car chases, it didn't have all the violence and gore associated with most cop shows and it was all done very much with tongue firmly planted in cheek. This show was definitely canceled too soon.
cowboyofyurdream The Show was the best thing I ever saw. He made people feel real about things in life. I have just one wish lift in me and is someday I can see him again. I have a son that I name after him. My wish that someday he could meet my son. My son is now in the U.S. Army now. He never got to see "Enos".
Tim Enos was pure camp and a spin off The Dukes of Hazzard. I wish it would have lasted more than one season. I hope that It will be shown on tv again but I doubt it. I also hope that it will be released on DVD. But Hell I don't see that happen either. If you know anymore info on this please feel free to e-mail me. If you get a chance to see it enjoy it.
