12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief Audience Reviews

ThiefHott Too much of everything
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Ed-Shullivan Out of great tragedy does human kindness and care for one's fellow man appear from all walks of life. The music and entertainment industry came out in full force due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy on the Jersey shores.I was very moved by the extent of care and concern displayed by all the actors, actresses and musicians that volunteered to support this fund raising initiative caused by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.I especially found Steve Buscemi's narrative extremely touching about the heroes of the New York Fire Department and the New York Sanitation Department and the volunteers of the Grey Beards who stood by the community in their darkest hours. You could literally feel the love in the world on this night.Notable performances were provided by The Rolling Stones who cranked it up for the audience, Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, and Chris Martin of Cold Play. Sir Paul McCartney gave it his all singing Helter Skelter and having a romping good old time with all the heroes on stage in the grand finale number sung by Alicia Keys appropriately "New York". How could one not be moved by Ms. Key's sincere pride with all New Yorkers? It made me feel like a caring human being for purchasing this DVD which supports the Robin Hood fund. More importantly, it made me aware of how resilient New Yorker's and people from all walks of life are and how far they will go to unselfishly help one another when it is really needed. Yes, the human heart for goodness and caring is very much alive, and music helps heal the heart when it is most needed. Thank you one and all to the heroes of New York and New Jersey who struggled to persevere through the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and thank you to all the entertainers and musicians for the making of an historical night of music that I will watch over and over when I need to remind myself of the human kindness within all of us.
