Acensbart Excellent but underrated film

Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Thomas Sun I have to admit that the songs in this film are classics of the latest years(Tum hi ho, sunn raha hai, ham mar jeyenge etc.), but the plot of the film has copied A Star Is Born starred Barbra Streisand in 1976, the concert at the start of the film, the suicide of the male singer are the same and even there are also some exaggerations of the facts(like the singer had gone to London and new York and held concert there). Indian film makers always want to prove themselves in a quicker way so they think the best way to achieve the fame and box office is to imitate the classics of western cinema.they think that with some glamorous dancing and singing, the film they made will be received well from the public. The success of aashiqui 2 depends on the playback singer Arijit Singh, Palak Muchal, Tulsi Kumar and Shreya Ghoshal. Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the film of A Star Is Born are real singers. They sing all the song without any playback singers. But Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy just move their lips in the film to match the lyrics, I think it's the biggest difference between western film and Indian film.

Monica A There is something considerably wrong with the storyline of this movie. It is not well thought and written in a rush. Much like most of the movies these days, it is beautiful picturing and the advances in technology that people are attracted to. It's visually appealing but not sensually! Both actors, shraddha and aditya, cannot act. Shraddha looks very beautiful in simple but elegant dresses, so she gets by. For the most past, Aditya looks as though he just rolled out of the bed and came to the set! He cannot act as drunken dude either! The story never explains why he got addicted to alcohol in the first place nor why parents are absolutely not there for their kids! The story is full of loopholes and gets very annoying after a while.Big attraction of the movie - beautifully composed songs! They simply grow on you. Much like the trend these days, this movie solely survives on these songs. The direction of the movie is worth the praise considering the weak storyline. If the story were stronger and if the actors could act then I would have rated this movie much higher. For now, it is simply a waste of your time unless you have nothing else to do and want to kill your time, then watch it. I would still recommend putting your time for a better cause and watch the songs on youtube in HD.

sandeepyad1984 First of all why only a 7.2 rating on IMDb, its far far better this. Its a amazing movie, the only movie in last decade which i have seen 5 times. Very simple but heart touching story, Both Aditya & Arohi did a superb job, both of them are stunning by looks and performance. its a beginning of new era of love story in Bollywood.The music is not only good but great, nothing went wrong in this movie, a pure love story with beautiful songs, it can make everyone to love someone. This movie is for all generations, everyone gonna love it, if you haven't seen yet then please go for it, you will not be disappointing.It can beat any love story of any actor. This is superb.Waiting for Aashiqui 3......

sasikanth20 If you are into romantic movies with sad endings, then this is for you. Mohit Suri does a good job with a script written by Shagufta Rafiqui, but the plot could have been way better. The character of the protagonist was not well established in the beginning of the film. It's a very short film, and they had all the time to give some base to Aditya's character. Nevertheless, the first half of the film is good, with the latter half kinda becoming a bore after a point. On acting front, Aditya Roy Kapoor does a decent job, but he still needs to improve on his acting skills. Shraddha Kapoor looked gorgeous and performed well. The rest of the cast was alright. The definite plus point of the movie is its music. The soulful numbers are also well picturized. Overall, it's a decent film, but definitely had the potential to be much better.Acting: 7.5/10 Story-Screenplay-Direction: 7/10 Technical Aspects: 8.5/10Verdict: 7.5/10For more reviews, please visit sasikanth.me :)
