Asli Naqli Audience Reviews

Kattiera Nana I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
vjkaram This is one of the best movies I have seen. I am surprised that movies now-a-days don't come even near this movie. It was very entertaining indeed. The movies shows clean innocent love between people. It shows that you don't need money to be happy.Dev Anand a grandson of a wealthy man leaves house searching for self identity. He ends up with a small family consisting of brother and sister only. They give him all the love he had been missing from his life. He finds his love of life there as well.Sadhna acted wonderfully in this movie. Dev Anand was okay. Some scenes are very emotional especially that scene where Dev Anand's adopted sister fights with him.A must see movie.
rujuta_parikh1992 Dev Anand plays Anand who is rich and pampered by the people. He wastes his grandfather's money on gambling until a wise man brings to light his wasted life. Dev's grandfather wants him to marry a rich girl whom Dev despises and quarrels with his grandfather. He leaves his home and travels into the wide wild world f which he is inexperienced. He is used to sleeping on soft beds and served around the clock by his servants but he is not used to sleeping on a hard mattress, cooking his food, washing his clothes etc. Worse, he has to work for his own living. But he does work with the help of Sadhana, who single handedly supports her own family comprising a mother and sister. Dev falls in love with Sadhana and wants to marry her but Dev's grandfather intervenes but eventually gives up when he notices the change in his grandson. The name Asli Naqli is justified because Dev experiences the world of money where love, the most important thing for a man's survival is missing and thus this world is termed as Naqli. On the contrary, the world of poor people is full of love and friendship and they value people and their feelings more than materialistic things. Thus this world is termed Asli. The title song of the film "Asli kya hai Naqli kya hai poocho dil se mere" justifies the title of the film. This film has mesmerizing songs like "Tera Mrea Pyar Amar" sung by Lata Mangeshkar and the film is directed well by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
AJU GEORGE Asli Naqli is the story of Dev Anand a rich cynical aimless young man. His grand father, Nasir Hussain wants Dev to marry a young girl of a rich family so that Nasir can take over the wealth of the girl's father. Furious Dev has a showdown with his grandfather and leaves his lavish home. He roams around hungry & tired. Anwar Hussain takes him home and Dev lives in the small hut along with Anwar's chatter box sister Sandhya Roy. Dev meets Sadhana and after a short romance interspersed with beautiful songs they decide to marry. Nasir Hussain tries to wreck the marriage plans but it's a happy ending with Nasir accepting Sadhana as Dev's wife.Asli Naqli has very beautiful songs composed by Shankar-Jaikishen, like "Cheda mere dil ne", "Tera mera pyaar amar", "Tujhe jeevan ki dore se" etc.I will rate Asli Naqli 8 out of 10.
bullue A Bollywood style song & dance adaptation of a forgotten 1936 Cary Grant movie "The Amazing Quest of Ernest Bliss". Dev Anand plays a spoiled playboy, who decides to earn his own living after a tiff with his industrialist grandfather. Finds a life among working class 'real people', and enjoys it. Especially when he meets Sadhana, a volunteer teacher. Gets a job and keeps it for a while with her help. Unnecessary twists complicate the plot, and separate Dev and Sadhana, before the usual happy ending can be engineered. Shanker-Jaikishan's music is lilting as usual, and the Rafi-Lata duet 'Tujhe Jeevan Ki Dor Se' leads the hit parade. Typical 60s Bollywood fare - a good basic storyline with the usual 'masala' - twists, melodrama, and memorable songs.
