After watching the first Zombie Night (2003) I considered it one of the worst zombie movies I'd ever seen so my watching it's sequel was foolish. I have an insistence of watching full franchises and therefore I dived in expecting the worst.This is a brand new story with no connection to the first movie and in 3yrs they've clearly learnt a couple of things about film making. Awakening (2006) is a horror film from Canada directed by David J Francis film that was released on October 28, 2006 89 minute movie was so boring with all the stupidity and silliness of her I watched this movie via DVD. This movie is too much deficiency, the brightness of this movie is so dark, terrible acting, stupid Zombie !, very cheap dialogue dialogue ... Until I do not care about this movie .. This movie is so boring and just most dialogue, acting the The cast in this movie is so rotten ... Do not watch the movie, which will waste your time ....

Dave Francis, who directs, does it again with his newest undead offering Awakening. This is another in his series of horror films. However, this is a much more ambitious attempt than his original indie Zombie Night. There are definitely more professional production values on display than in his earlier works. The cinematography, for one, is decent. His leads, Steve Curtis and Sharon DeWitt, turn in able performances. Dave Francis makes an appearance as the father. Kudos to the full-on zombie makeup artistry. This film, made on what would be considered a lower budget than the look of the film would belie, used hundreds of actors to portray undead zombies. Dave Francis has worked with a dedicated team to create his apocalyptic vision. This work owes a nod, as do so many in this genre, to the cinematic tradition inspired by the Ed Wood school of horror and suspense that later brought us Night of the Living Dead, which it owes much of its rehashed zombie styling to. Perhaps originality is lacking, but for those seeking their old-fashioned zombie fix without all the special effects of a larger budget film, this might do.

Every once and awhile, you'll watch a film that will inspire you, entertain you, move you to tears, have you laughing out loud, and even raise from your seat and make you cheer. This is NOT one of those films. Aside from wishing/hoping that no one outside the people that were involved in the making of this film actually watched it, I'm ashamed this film so brazenly states it's Canadian roots.Everything about this film was substandard; the poor writing, cinematography, editing, make-up, and especially the acting. I appreciate the fact that you can't overkill another release in the zombie genre....no I take that back. This film did. A very bad release from another Romero wanna-be. Perhaps this would have been successful as a senior year student theatre play, but not as a film...even with a questionable budget. A waste of money, and 80 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
