Sondra Wellington (Anya Benton) is bossy, controlling, and extremely unpleasant. But everything changes when a special friend from Sondra's past transforms her into Bella -- her assistant's loveable little Chihuahua. While Sondra lives as Bella, her real body is in a coma. In order to gain access to the hospital, Sondra must prove that she has what it takes to be a therapy dog. As she learns the tricks of the trade, she becomes more connected with the people around her and realizes her past mistakes. It appears that Sondra is finally ready to turn over a new leaf in her own life --that is, if she ever gets the chance.

Chihuahua: The Movie Audience Reviews

SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Kidskycom It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
rhamalily This movie is excellent. It is getting a little outdated but, still very enjoyable. I have enjoyed this movie since I was 12, now being 18, I still love it. The dog(Bella) is very entertaining to watch on screen. The acting is not the best but, the movie is still good. WARNING: the movie can scar younger viewers by the end being a little bit sad. I don't understand the bad rating of Chihuahua: The Movie and the horrible reviews on it are even more strange. I know a lot of people, including myself (obviously) love this movie. This movie is also one of a kind. This movie is enjoyable to all ages and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
deadthelma1 I gave this 2 stars because my 5 year old twins liked the dog. This movie is awful... Not just low budget, but truly terrible. The acting is so bad, there are these awkward moments where it starts to feel like softcore porn with dogs & kids in place of porn.... I'm not sure if peanut the Chihuahua was in charge of makeup but that's really the only explanation I can offer for the over done smoky eye + dark lip color (porno) look that appears to have been applied with a paw. There's a duet featuring two of the most unpleasantly peculiar voices I've ever heard, set to a montage of clips that have nothing to do with the song and only offer to confuse viewers even more, as though trying to follow the plot weren't bad enough. If you appreciate a great bad movie, this one does not fail to deliver. Chihuahua: The Movie is equal parts unintentionally awful, creepy and weird. Emphasis on awful.
noy-phongsavan Earlier reviews stated that this was a Disney movie, but it's not. It is a lower budget movie so if you can get past the setting and rookie level acting, then sit down and watch it with the kids. Bella the chihuahua is cute and very well trained. Her outfits were cute as well. This is a great movie for young children with a great message about the treatment of other people. Sondra is a self absorbed medical consultant who switch places with Bella. Sondra gets a whole new perspective on herself while being Bella. She also learns more about people around her that she never took the time to get to know. Peanut who plays Bella did a very good job of acting. My kids thought Peanut was the cutest thing ever. I would recommend this a good watch for kids. My 12 and 8 year old enjoyed it.
helledu1957 I was able to pre order the movie and I just loved it! "Chihuahua: The Movie" is a charming, heart warming family movie for all ages. Peanut, the little Chihuahua was so cute and is sure to touch everyones hearts! I love the message that is brought across for all of us to learn by. My daughter, Amber played the role of Gail and she acted her part so well, considering she had to be so angry in her scenes. I am very proud of her for making it so believable. Everone was awesome in the movie. Congratulations to Michael Amundsen for directing a great movie and everyone behind the scenes that were involved in making "Chihuahua: The Movie".
