Contracted Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
TMKluski This movie is really great. This lovable girl gets involved in some very serrious mess. Against her will, against her worldview, she is seriously abused. Then she is forced to inflict her suffering upon others. On the loved ones, mostly. She is spreading the sickness like crazy but who can tell is it still her will or the disease? You should tell it yourself.
lambiepie-2 My goodness, what a potentially good low-budget horror film that went south quickly. There are many reviews that mention trying to have a "suspension of disbelief" while watching to enjoy, and I have to agree. However, I cannot get that far with this. I mean, there is not way in Hades that no one could not see what this poor character is going through! Not friends, not the doctor, not lovers, not where she works...wow!Najarra Townshend playing the title character lends decent acting to a bunch of unbelievable occurrences of character/characters in this story once she begins to deteriorate, and she does so rapidly. That part of this horror story does work well and creepy and disgustingly. Everything else, doesn't. Najarra plays a lesbian (well, maybe, maybe not, she's confused-or at least I was trying to figure that out too) who drowns her sorrows at a party after fighting with her lesbian-lover, meets a mysterious man (who is out of focus so you never know who he really is) who spikes her drink and rapes her. The next day, she begins to display some very nasty symptoms. Watching her deteriorate is not for the faint of heart, but she IS deteriorating. She does all the right things - goes to the doctor, calls her employer, etc. but no one who sees her treats her like the walking disaster she is!! Granted, she tries to continue with her life, but she looks like crap and everyone around her treats her like 'well, it's not so bad-but please take care of it when you have time'. Even the physician, which really makes one think. For me, I spent more time wondering about how bad her physician was once she began getting these weird symptoms than anything else that went on. I mean, she SAW all this and what does he do? "Get some over the counter creme". Really?!?! I had a time getting past that than all the things that happened because of it. Add on the self-centered oblivious mom, that you find out isn't really oblivious, but that she had to take care of her daughter during a difficult time and thinks this is it all over again - you sit and wonder, how much ignorance can these folks carry? Well, much - even if you try to suspend some of the actions of the characters. I just couldn't do it fully enough for this film. And the ending -- well, it wasn't very bad...it just could have been better given the circumstances leading up to it.
re-animatresse cw: rape mention if you've seen the trailer or read the IMDb plot summary – 'After being drugged and raped at a party, a young woman contracts what she thinks is an STD; but, it's actually something much worse' – you already know pretty much everything there is to know about this movie. the mystery never unfolds. there is no explanation or resolution the acting is not bad but, from the irrationally self-destructive and obsessive main character, to the best friend who pressures her into drinking while she's in recovery, to her judgmental, gold-star lesbian love interest, to her homophobic mother, to the doctor who should be sued for malpractice, there are no likable characters anywhere in this the leading character makes poor decision after poor decision with no apparent reasoning behind any of them. it's possible the 'std' she contracts and her handling of the situation are symbolic of something, maybe the guilt and shame a person often feels after being raped, but if that's the case, the exploration and handling of the issue are incredibly insensitive, and this is probably not a film about a female rape victim that should have been written and directed by a man, much less Eric England while it does inspire some thought, whether intentionally or otherwise, and it could have been even less tasteful (American Sniper, The Interview), this is certainly not a movie i'd recommend to anyone i like or care for
vickydanville I am a real fan of this type of film but i couldn't even watch this to end it was so bad. The whole cast give a very poor performance the main characters constant playing with her hair and looking into space shots were very annoying. Any sane person would be off to the hospital after bleeding that much yet she cleans up the mess with a tiny piece of tissue!! Seriously stupid it makes fools out of any viewer. Don't waste any more of your life watching this film
