Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
team_palabra The 2 other reviews were dead on.I saw this movie originally on VHS when it was released under the title "Homeroom News." It is a hackneyed script and Doherty seemed to be going through the motions. BUT, it's not as bad as it sounds, mostly thanks to the duo of Len Foley and Rich Corea who play the 'henchmen' and are especially believable as vile, for-hire, rubes. The energy and passion that Corea and Foley brought to the screen was absolutely delightful and made this movie worth, at the very least, a rental. (I myself own it on both DVD and special edition Blue-Ray) I find myself looking forward to each of their scenes. They are a very bright spot in an otherwise dreary production. Fans of Foley and Corea won't be disappointed.
dr-29 Early Shannon Dougherty is a take-it-or-leave it proposition. Most of the other principles are the standard teen idol fare, i.e faces you think you should know from TV. For you fans of Rich Corea, however, this glimpse of his early work is not to be missed. He brings a nuance to the part of Walsh's goon that rises above the hackneyed script. In the scenes where Corea is paired with fellow "goon" Len Foley, the two seem to perfectly balance the menacing and comedic sides of their ill-fated characters. Had the producers transformed this into an atypical "buddy movie" starring Corea and Foley, this film may have been saved. This script was never going to be an Emmy consideration, but it's worth the rental fee to see Corea.
tewedle forget it. this made for TV movie is not worth the time. the plot has something to do with mystery and a pseudo teenaged journalist (played by Shannen Doherty). totals to zero. don't rent it, don't buy it, don't watch it. save your brain cells and IQ points and rent something more worthwhile.
