The humanitarian aid expedition "Angeles Azules" (Blue Angels), comprising twelve Europeans and six trucks loaded with provisions to alleviate hunger in Sub-Saharan Africa, advances across the continent. As a result of the difficulties the team encounters, disorganization gradually takes over the convoy. Each of the members of the group, little by little, yield to their petty, selfish impulses: violence, power, nostalgia - The breakdown of one of the trucks forces Michele and Nadia to wait at an oasis for the arrival of spare parts. But a starving local tribe settles threateningly near them. The chief of the tribe makes a speech they don't understand, which is followed by a macabre purification ceremony.

How Good the Whites Are Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
dbdumonteil Another fable by Marco Ferreri whose movies are all fables, sometimes ("Pipicacadodo" ) hardly accessible. In 1973 ,"La Grande Bouffe" was the story of Bon Vivant people committing suicide by stuffing their face with food."Come Sono Buoni i Bianchi " =yum!yum!the whites! is a ferocious spoof on humanitarian organizations (of course,it's an imaginary one in the film called "the blue eagles") in Africa.Things do not turn as expected:first of all,the natives are no longer big children (the usual cliché),they are educated, they studied in Paris where they got their degrees;as for their "saviours" ,they are more interested in their love affairs. To reveal more would be a spoiler.
Juha Varto Marco Ferreri never left any stone unturned: here he whips new ways to colonize African countries. Europeans may not plunder African countries like a gang of robbers, anymore, but the development aid given to underdeveloped countries may be understood by them as a recent form of colonialism and patriarchal-ism. Ferreri shows the heavy technological infrastructure needed when food or other aid are shipped, conveyed and stored for those in need. The aggressive knowledge, the power and sudden attack on unknown deserts are the ways European know. They are not asking whether Africans need all that modern stuff they are getting from Europe. And so, when something goes wrong, technology fails and fantasy is too limited to pick up the reality, anything can happen! The film is like a huge journey uphill where everything will change, new rules are applied and "good" has an unexpected meaning. This film really makes one ask how we should help those in need; or should we at all?
