How I Spent My Summer Vacation Audience Reviews

Exoticalot People are voting emotionally.
Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
UnowPriceless hyped garbage
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
michaeldouglas1 After searching off and on for years, I finally located a decent DVD copy of this movie! I hadn't seen it since probably sometime in the Seventies, but it always stuck in my mind as a very classy, cosmopolitan made-for-television movie. Back in the 60's and early 70's there were many good TV movies; and some, like this flick, that could easily have been theatrical releases. The performances are uniformly excellent, the dialog sparkles, and the cat-and-mouse plot twists are terrific! As almost every reviewer has asked for this movie to be made available, I will tell you that I got my copy from an individual selling thru the Ioffer.com website (in fact, there were about 3 different folks selling copies now!). Mine was taken from British TV, and while it does briefly show a movie ID card at commercial breaks, there are no commercials. From the running time it looks to be a complete copy, and is of fairly good quality. I've gotten all types of quality from Ioffer sources, ranging from excellent to lousy -- but I'd have to say this is one of the better ones! Definitely very watchable. And ordering couldn't be easier -- all you have to do is visit the Ioffer website, and type in "How I Spent My Summer Vacation", and it will show who's offering it. Then a quick registration, and you can purchase (most Ioffer vendors take secure pymt thru Paypal, or Google Checkout, or the usual check, money order, etc.). ENJOY!
magmonster2002 Robert Wagner stars as a young slacker who spends a vacation with his girlfriend's rich and powerful parents on their yacht, cruising the Mediterranean. The girl's father dislikes him as a potential match for his daughter and by challenging the young man to all manner of competition, humiliates him repeatedly, usually in front of his girlfriend. Utterly defeated, he takes the father's cue to " take just one of your ideas and stick to it to make it work", and starts seriously investigating the strange and sinister characters who have been interfacing with the father during the cruise. That's when the fireworks start. This picture is a cross between a coming of age/rebellious youth movie and a tongue in cheek James Bond adventure.
Eric Malone (ericdmalone) I have been searching for this movie for 38 years! I saw this when I was a kid in Texas and I actually wrote to the network (I think it might have been ABC, but it could have been CBS) and offered to buy the script from them. This movie is one fantastic neo-noir classic, and I just wish I could find a copy on video or DVD somehow. I too have searched around the entire United States (I travel a lot) and have actually seen the *listing* for a station that would play it, but I have never seen it since 1967, nor have I had access to any kind of media recording. When I first saw this in 1967 I fell off my chair with how good the script was, and how well-made the film itself was at the time. This movie would make money on DVD, and as a remake. Maybe Tarantino or David Fincher should hear about it.
modelmasters From "With A Song In My Heart", in the 1950s, to the present day the performances of Robert Wagner have always been believable. This actor's body of work represents a person who takes pride in their craft and does not take themselves too seriously. This "small" movie afforded Robert Wagner the opportunity to present the scope of his acting chops. As the story unfolded, it became more compelling to watch. I found myself reacting to the slowly mounting tension. The locale was most beautiful. A decision to use a yacht as a focal point of the setting seemed ingenious. Peter Lawford provided a character with an appearance of urbanity that concealed something rather evil. It would be a mistake to not mention the beautiful actress, Jill St, John. I've seen this movie quite a few times over the ensuing years, always with enjoyment. Seeing it in my mind's eye from a distance of 38 years it is still as clear as yesterday. A simple summer vacation slowly morphs into a cunning, chilling and thriller hunt presented as one of the most amazing chess games in a story environment.
