Killer Klowns from Outer Space Audience Reviews

GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
draco_graham Am I the odd one out saying this is a piece of crap!? Rotten tomatoes gave it 75%, All reviews are saying 6/10-10/10 on here, and this is the one of the worst, and deserves to be on MST3K. I can understand if B-Movie fans like this, I am one too, but this was too stupid for even my taste! I do like some bad movies, but those one don't use PLASTIC BALLS AS LEVERS OR POPCORN AS A WEAPON! This film takes itself WAY too seriously. The characters are not likable, the clowns are not scary, everything is cheesy about this, the fact that the old policeman is so paranoid when the whole town calls him about clowns are killing their loved ones that, he tells them all to "Go F### yourselves." All characters are either paranoid narcissists or oblivious idiots. This film has gotten so much praise and I don't know why. The effects are worse than the IT miniseries from 1990, the plot is stupid, and it wasn't even Laughably bad. I gave it an extra star for creativity though.
a_chinn The Chiodo Brother's cult classic is mostly a cult classic because of it's clever title and goofy premiss, but what actually ends up on screen isn't all that funny, scary, or clever. The story is basically the same as "The Blob," with a folksy townsperson, Royal Dano, discovering aliens in the nearby woods. Instead of discovering a blob in the woods, Dano discovers a spaceship in the form of a circus tent with the aliens the form of giant clowns. Both films primarily focus on group of teens who are the only one who know what's really going on. A major difference between the two films is that "The Blob" had a young Steve McQueen as the lead teen saving the town (though he was playing a 28-year old teenager), but in "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" there's no one of McQueen's level of charisma (but honestly there's only a handful of actors who can even come close to McQueen levels of cool). However, in the film's favor, there are a couple strong character actors in supporting roles, with John Vernon as a town sheriff and the above mentioned Royal Dano as an old coot. There's also a before-he-was-famous Chris Titus in a small role. Overall, in the spirit of Roger Corman showmanship, "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" features a title and poster that grabs the audiences attention much more so than the actual film, but it's not that bad of a film and is moderately entertaining.
tiskec In my opinion, this movie flat out sucked. It was so stupid it was.... well it was just stupid. Not funny at all. I think they were trying to make some kind of horror comedy, and it just came out lame rather than good. I knew it was going to be "sort of stupid" when I walked into it but really? A circus tent from the sky hey? Killing people and preserving them in cotton candy cocoons? This was just stupid and dumb. The whole plot was so stupid it couldn't even be justified as a joke. Let's talk about the acting. The clowns didn't have to do much acting at all. So, they weren't too bad. However, the rest of the cast just flat out sucked, really bad to. The acting was held back, and just...terrible. I can't even describe it. Especially in the beginning, where the guy goes to the circus tent (the supposed meteor) and starts looking around. When he loses his dog and starts to look for him, my facial expression to his reaction to the lost dog must have been really funny. Where did they get actors like these? All I can say is wow. A lot of people will disagree with me on this, but I place this movie in my turds of terror-short movie list. It's so popular, but so terrible at the same time.
Logan Jones This movie is the very definition of a B movie. It starts on the mountain top that couples make out at that apparently every town has. There's an unimportant ice cream truck with two unimportant characters we're supposed to like. The clowns fly by and to idiots think it's a shooting star for some reason and follow it. Next is the really sad scene where an old guy's dog gets killed, he starts crying, and he's killed by the Klowns. The couple from before shows up and is attacked by the Klowns and run away, leading them into town. When clowns attack the town, no one takes it seriously, even the cops. Well, one of two doesn't. He's convinced that the whole town is pranking him to get him fired, so he straight up stops answering the phone. It must be noted that these Klowns are total jerks. They go into a drug store and take everything off the shelves and scare the owner, but seemingly don't kill him. A ton of unimportant stuff happens and Debbie, of the previously mentioned couple, is captured and for some reason not killed. Her boyfriend, her ex, and the two dumb ice cream guys go to the amusement park and end up on the Klowns ship. They save Debbie and a really big Klown, supposedly their leader, shows up. Now it must be discussed that the clowns are killed by popping their nose, which what? So Klown colossus is killed by the ex (who's name I actually cannot remember) pops his nose with his badge in the most anti-climactic death possibly ever. Anyway, the brothers survive their car blowing up by hiding in the freezer and clown car ex machina saved the ex guy. That's it. The end. This movie has many flaws simply drawn from its own concept. However, this is a fun B movie that, despite being predictable, never upset me while watching it and held my interest.
